I was thinking exactly along similar lines after reading Flu’s proposal π
Think about it, this was quite easily doable during the bubble years when appraisal process was completely messed up….buy your friend’s house at a over inflated price, get a kickback and than default on the non-recourse loan.
I really hope you folks don’t think I was serious…
AINT GONNA WORK….
It’s called “strict appraisals”… Though housing in bay area is still crazy, it’s not as crazy at those levels…
And no, I don’t want to be the guinea pig seller. Thanks, but no thanks. I’m pretty happen with the tenant right now…
Speaking of Guinea Pigs. ANyone want to buy one?
Hijack…Are you serious? My kid was asking for one….I’m trying to keep my damage to just 3 beta fishes, which I just learned you’re not suppose to keep in the same tank….Oops….

I did actually discuss it with my wife. I explained the “minor” drawback that it would send her credit score down into single digit oblivion. She politely told me to go f___ myself, and shove this idea up my a__.
Ahh, marriage, what a joy!
:-)
Told ya!
But I’m sure she didn’t actually drop the f bomb..More likely, she mummbled “aye-yah” behind your back, and curtly said a firm “no!” and hung up on you…Meanwhile, I’m sure she’s talking (or talked) to her parents about what a baffoon idea that was…But hey, that’s ok…You get one free pass every month to come up with a baffoon financial idea.
NOTE: I have your spouse already MO’ed. I would have really been floored if she thought it was ok, because I was pretty confident that she was more traditional then not. All you had to say is that her parents are living with you folks for me to figure that one out π Trust me though, your wife is doing you a big favor by keeping you in check. You’ll thank her for it in the years to come.
Actually, your wife is pretty kind in that she was thinking about both of you……Because she didn’t suggest that just YOU do this alone and just send YOUR credit score down to a single digit oblivion, leaving her’s intact. Afterall, she doesn’t have to be on the loan application π
