    A statement by Schahrzad Berkland, “As Robert Shiller showed in Irrational Exuberance, house prices have risen in periods of rising interest rates. The 1980’s are an example: the housing market in Southern CA was booming and prices rose even though interest rates were rising.”

    I was a kid back then, can anyone give any reasons for the above statement?
