Shopping the Market?: Watching closely, but not ready to make any offers (even lowball). Forcing ourselves to wait until at least Winter 2007, but prepared to wait it out until fall/winter 2008 or longer. Would like to see pricing reach 2003 levels, but will move quickly if data starts to convince me a turn is imminent (I don’t expect this will happen for 3-4 years). Quite comfortable in our rental at the moment.

I’m sidelined, hoping to get land and build a custom house. I really don’t ever like any of the houses I’ve looked at in SD. I want a “great room” style home, rather than compartmentalized to fit as many rooms as possible (i.e. I’d rather have one huge room than many small ones).

Looking at where everyone wants to buy it looks like I’m at the front of the line and will get mine first. Prices have just come into my goal price but now it is a true waiting game to see how low they will go.

Condo or House but if a condo 2car attached gar and nobody above/below, I guess you’d call that a townhouse

1600 to 2300 sq ft, 3br, minimal lot, community pool
currently rent but also have a property for sale that I do not live in but the sale of it is not required for me to buy.

Shopping the market: Daily, but internet and new home touring annonymously, not ready to enlist the services of a realtor just yet.

sdrealtor – if you find that teardown on a 10,000 sq ft lot I’ll go halvsies … or I’ll be competing with you on the bid. That’s what I’m looking for as well. Did you check out the REO on La Veta? I’d prefer La Mesa or Neptune.
