yes, it’s been a few years for me…but… at the end of the day…waht do i put the money into ? doe sit just go back into dollars? what does it all mean? ther eis no safety, ther eis no stability, ther eis nothing but dirt, spit and blood. and gold i guess.
Scaredy, don’t fear. Okay? The only people who will really be up s**t creek are those who don’t see what’s coming and don’t take any steps to prepare. You sound like you know what’s going on – enough to be very concerned. But let it end there. The hardest part of what’s coming, I believe, will be mentally adapting to the new reality. That, in and of itself, is going to take a lot of people down – instantly. Keep your wits about you and just realize that this, too, shall come to pass. A little cash, some gold and silver, a good supply of food of all types, a nice stash of wine, good friends and a working stereo. That’s really all you’ll need to steer yourself through this π
If you are mentally prepared, you can survive ANYTHING.
There’s a song by King Britt (if you watch “True Blood” you’ve heard it) that comes to mind whenever I think about the next few years. It’s called “New World in My View”. Instead of focusing on the world we are about to leave, try to think about the new world that is coming to greet us. As much as I’m sure we all enjoyed the Apple Store, Whole Foods and weekend trips to Puerto Vallarta, there’s a helluva lot of crap in this world – from the Fed and our debt-addicted economy to Paris Hilton and Mario Lopez – that I would absolutely love to put in my rear view mirror.
Money ain’t gonna matter much when this is all done. Money is just a means to prepare for what’s coming.
This is an opportunity to hit the reset button, dude.
So chillax π

long term value.
sure it’s got major ups and downs.
but ya gotta take into account wars, social upheavals.
currency upsets.
i think earlier denials that it wasn’t a reliable long-term store of value kind f miss the mark if they don’tt ake into accoutn a span of thousands of years and how governmetns melt away in that time.
but gold remains.
so.
in short.
it’s about to plummet.

October 9, 2009 at 10:16 PM #466680Chris Scoreboard JohnstonParticipantI have no idea what thread it was in that I stated that I thought there was a bubble in Gold for the record, and that I thought the top would occur by Mid Oct.
I have just chosen this one to state that I will cover in my blog whether I was right or wrong. After just scrolling through a few things tonight in here it is clear to me that as a non liberal, I have no business being in here participating, as I have for the last couple of years sporadically. There is such a heavy bias in the liberal direction in here that it is just too one sided for me. I do lean right but am not close minded. This political climate is so divisive, that I think in the end it is going to hurt everyone eventually.
I have no idea if my call for a top here is correct, but 4 plex, since I made the statement for the record, I will fess up to it one way or the other like I always do in my blog.
If anyone has any interest in calling me a fool or praising me, just read my blog towards the end of the month, because it will be known by then if I was right or not. For those who have read it I hope if any of you are short term traders you took the Silver short last month that I posted the recommendation for the day before. It turned out to be a big winner as a short term trade which is what I do anyway.
I won’t be here anymore, so best wishes to everyone on both sides of the political spectrum. I am just too busy to respond anyway to any comments someone might make to something I post anyway, and that is unfair.
Take your shots at me if you wish in the blog.
