Yea they have been laying off in my company over the last month or so (TelCom Test equipment), One of My colleagues got a Job at Cisco in San Jose.
Said why stay here, A lot more Jobs in Silicon Valley than (North L.A.) and houses are about the same these day’s (She was renting in Nor-L.A).
That used to be why companies and people came here in the first place from Silicon Valley. The housing was cheap.
Not much of an incentive these day’s I guess.

Another for the last post,
Only about 50% of the engineers that were laid off from my company in the last 3 years have found work in the North L.A. area as engineers (maybe not so good a market for engineers in L.A. as SD ???) , anyway the other 50% most have become real-estate agents, some work at places like Home Depot, left the area or retired .
Sad state for engineers in North L.A. it seems.
