Sorry I know this is off topic, but am I expecting too much from Nissan?
December 9th 2005 I had purchased a 2006 Nissan Armada Se-4X4 Off-Road Edition from Riverside Metro Auto Group LLC, I have all the documentation from the deal, the bill of sale clearly states it is a NEW vehicle, I have a signed odometer statement clearly stating the vehicle had 28 miles. I paid $35,900 pre tax, I gave the dealer a check for 900.00 and financed this deal through NMAC @ 4% for 60 months. Approximately July 2006 I paid the Loan for the vehicle in full, August of 2006 I received the California Title for the vehicle. Nissan USA terminated ALL Vehicle Warranty approximately February 10th 2006, after only two months and the vehicle at that time had less than 3,000 miles because the California DMV had branded the Vehicle as NOT ACTUAL MILAGE when it was sold to me. I mostly serviced the vehicle at Quality Nissan in CA and they never advised me I had no warranty, I never requested any warrranty work from them only regular service. August 2006 I relocated to the East Coast from Temecula, it wasn’t until November of 2006 I found out I had no warranty from my new Nissan dealer on the East Coast. now since then the selling dealer has called and tried to get the warranty reinstated but Nissan will not budge. I also called they won’t do anything, I cant get past their Consumer Affairs Dept, they don’t care. (thank god I don’t need any warranty work) Just last week I received a letter from the CA DMV advising me they have corrected their records to reflect the vehicle has actual milage, well that took me about 1 1/2 years because I had regestered the vehicle in New Jersey and had to surrender the CA title to New Jersey anyways how I got CA DMV to find the mistake and send me this letter is very long story, iyt wasn’t easy, the dealer couldn’t do it, and Nissan wouldn’t even help me. bottom line is this Nissan will not accept this letter from the CA DMV, they only want to see a CA title that says the vehicle has actual milage, I offered to fax them a copy and they tell me not to even bother unless its a CA title. The only I can title it in CA is to bring it to CA!!! they don’t care!
First I admit, I agree with Nissan 100% that this problem was caused by the CA DMV not them!
But how is it that Nissan or any automobile manufacture can just cancel a new vehicle warranty because of a DMV error? Let me explain my position here.
This is a brand new vehicle, the Nissan employee that made the decision to VOID the warranty had to see the record for the vehicle so he had to see it was a brand new vehicle and the recorded mileage in dispute with the DMV was only 28 miles. So why is it acceptable for Nissan not to notify me right away and tell me there is a problem? Why are they not required to notify me? what if there really is some type of fraud from the dealer?
Before you reply, remember I only gave the dealer 900.00 I financed 35,000 through NMAC, this means I don’t get to see the TITLE for the vehicle, NISSAN HOLDS THE TITLE!!!!!! how am I to know there is this NOT ACTUAL MILAGE PROBLEM???

by the way I asked the investigator IN THE CA DMV, how Nissan was notified. She told me that Nissan had to pull it themselves because they don’t send out any notice’s!!! So why is it Nissan pulls this information and would just cut the new vehicle off no questions asked? A consumer affairs rep told me last week that they were notified Feb 10th of 2006, I think I know what happened now, I took the vehicle in for its first service at the dealer that sold me the vehicle and guess what, yep I serviced it on Feb 10th 2006!

By the way CarFax and every other service like this has the vehcile baranded as not actual milage so besides all of this aggravation I also get to have a branded vehicle that could be sold at a cow auction if I’m lucky.

Anyone have any ideas?

I would start with the California Attorney Generals Office. Better yet I would contact Nissan and let them know thats is what you intended to do, it might just convince them to do the right thing.
