ummm, those returning veterans are a little dangerous….on average. they’re a little wacko….
Scaredy: Really? What are you basing this on? I’d say you were a moron, but what’s the point?
Did you ever serve? Ever see a shot fired in anger? Do you have any idea what it’s like to deal with post-traumatic stress? Didn’t think so.
Returning vets ON AVERAGE are not committing violent crimes against their fellow citizens. Most want to come home and forget about what happened during their term of service. Unfortunately, there is an increased incidence of spousal abuse, alcoholism and drug abuse and suicide, all courtesy of PTSD.
I spent three years in a combat zone. I returned home after a medical discharge and have been a model citizen since. I have friends that are former SOF operators, including Rangers, SEALs and Special Forces. If we, as a group, decided we were going on a tear, we’d be a nightmare for your average metro police department.
We wouldn’t. You know why? We took an oath to defend this country and we respect America too much to even contemplate such acts. The notion that you have groups of disaffected vets planning to overthrow this country is bullshit.
Yet you have the gall to question the mental status and integrity of men and women who have given so much to this country. Ignorant morons like you make me wonder what the hell I was fighting for. Get a life.

April 14, 2009 at 6:33 PM #380928Allan from FallbrookParticipantSDR: Can you say “pretext”? The gubment and Uncle Sugar are just trying to come up with a valid reason to take your guns away.
Scapegoat someone quick! The idea that they’re scapegoating men and women who have just returned home from combat service is reprehensible.
And then you have credulous idiots like scaredy who are more than willing to jump on that bandwagon.
Oy vey.
