Best cash back, miles or rewards credit card?

I think if you pay for taxes, they would charge you a surcharge. At least the assessor’s office. I thought, however, that merchants weren’t allowed to do this….Maybe we should file a grievance with amex/visa/mc about SD accessor’s office. Then again, probably won’t help after today’s DOJ lawsuit against the big three.

I have the Amex Blue Cash card as well. I compared it to the cash back from the Costco Amex but Blue Cash is better (at least for my spending patterns). You do have to take into account that the 5% (groceries, gas–but not Costco gas, drugstores) and 1.25% (everything else) rebates don’t start until you’ve already spent $6000. We don’t travel enough to make the futzing with rewards points, hotels stays etc. worth it. Just show me the cash back, please! 🙂

You do have to take into account that the 5% (groceries, gas–but not Costco gas, drugstores) and 1.25% (everything else) rebates don’t start until you’ve already spent $6000. We don’t travel enough to make the futzing with rewards points, hotels stays etc. worth it. Just show me the cash back, please! 🙂

I use the Penfed Platinum Rewards VISA for gas (5%) and grocery (2%) and the Fidelity AMEX for everything else (2%). Penfed gives the credit the cashback immediately in the monthly statements.
