Nost: I think what is truly appalling is that this is more commonplace than you realize. I coach youth football and some of the older brothers and sisters that I come across are unbelievably rude, entitled and downright sociopathic when it comes to morality.
A friend of mine in Iraq, who is a colonel in the Army, commented on how inured to death and destruction his soldiers are, and how little human life seems to matter to them. Makes for good soldiers, but crappy human beings.
