I recently emailed the author of an LA Times article discussing the ARM interest rate freeze being discussed. I complimented him on the article, but stated that I wished he would get quotes from people the housing bust is helping (i.e., young people starting out, young families who now see a sliver of hope that they may get out of apartment life, people who have done the “right” or “responsible” thing all their life only to fall behind those that don’t).
This reporter passed along my comment and contact info to another LA Times reporter (business section) who is writing an article on these issues and asked me to call him to discuss this perspective in more detail.
I’m gonna have to cop out on this one as I’m not even living in the US right now (decided to experience life overseas while I wait for prices to fall) and it doesn’t seem right for a “foreigner” to complain about RE prices in California. Plus, I know many of you would be able to articulate the points much more effectively than I can.
