ParticipantOnly in America do you show pride in your country by donning a flag made in China. If that’s not a microcosm of how schmackwhackled things are, I don’t know what is.

A lot of the fiscal conservatives hate him because in or view, in our mindes, we are the ones that are “making positive change in your our own lives and are the more educated”…because we didn’t count on any of this bailout to keep afloat.
I don’t think that’s the reason you hate Obama because Bush is the one who started the bailouts.
Obama’s initiatives were mostly “confidence-boosting” PR that were funded within TARP which was passed by Bush. I didn’t hear any call for repealing TARP from conservatives.
Anyway, when I was little I complained that my brother got a gift and I didn’t. My dad told me to worry about what I have, not what others are getting.
Sure humans will feel jealousy and envy. But that’s the problem of the persons harboring those bitter feelings.

Until the United States changes it’s official language from English or officially is bilingual, anything but the English language is/should be an “optional” language, at the sole discretion of the individual/family/or parent.
Since when did English become the official language of the USA?
Sure people can learn language at their own discretion. Nobody is forcing anyone.
If Hispanic immigrants won’t learn English, then so what? It doesn’t bother me because I can speak Spanish. I don’t speak that well but I get by. At least I made the effort to learn.
A school’s job is to educate. If most of the students in a school speak Spanish at home, then the teachers should also speak Spanish to be understood. Simple pragmatic pedagogy.

To me, respect includes not only respecting cultural diversity from those other cultures, but also respecting those who do NOT wish to participate in the diversity. You cannot force someone to “be more diverse”, and those that choose to not participate in any “diversity program” should not have his/her rights interfered…And it’s a complete fallacy to catogorize folks that do not wish to participate in a cultural diversity event/program as being “racist” or “disrespectful” or “narrow minded”
Nobody was forcing anyone to participate. The students were participating. The administrators were setting parameters for participating.
