ParticipantIf you ask my agent or the listing agent, I am not being flexible enough to bridge a “small” gap to a deal.
The thing about small gaps.. is that they can add up when they occur in succession. Soon you’ll be talking about a large gap from where you were originally. If you ever decide to bridge a ‘small’ gap, first write down what the original position was before you bridge it. Helps one keep an eye on the size of the real gap. Also helps counter the request for you to bridge that “small” gap once more.

ParticipantActually, it’s 8mp. Though if I waited the XTi is 10.1mp. And the latest addition the XSi will be 12.1mp. Doh, if I only waited.
And in a few years.. even more megapixels..It is nice that the newer digitals are coming out with more for less… unlike many things in life. You just have to pick a point where the number of pictures you take will justify the cost. I did jump on a 12Megapixel DSLR recently, when it came out (SonyA700, body only – partially because it is compatible with my existing lenses(Minolta), and because of the build quality – enviro sealed with magnesium/aluminum alloy frame). At this point I’ll stand pat until the full-frame sensors come down in price.

ParticipantWell, my Canon SD950IS arrived today. All I can say is wow. Image Stabilization is awesome. The sad part is that I think my pictures taken with this camera are coming out better than the ones I shoot with my digital SLR, which was considerably more expensive (tells you what my skills are like).
Part of that is the ‘megapixel’ factor (beyond technology improvements). I think the Rebel DSLR is a 6Mpixel. Where the Rebel will have an advantage is in low light. It will do better in focusing speed, flash depth(how far it can throw the flash) and have less noise in the images. The SD950IS will have noise start to creep in after ISO 100. The Rebel should be able to run up to ISO 400 without problems. For pictures in bright daylight, the SD950IS should do a lot better.

Participant2) Why do people have have such visceral negative reactions to dropping house values?
MEW. Mortgage Equity Withdraw? People living beyond their means by using the funny money within their home.. When the prices drop, their ability to withdraw that equity ceases.
