ParticipantSo home loan prices are going up… when will interest rates go up for savers? CD rates are beyond suckful… as are money market, etc..
Sorry… I’ve got a low home mortgage rate already – so I’m looking for improved interest payment rates on savings.

ParticipantI track foreclosures in the 92101 zip on sdlookup.com. It seems like there’s a steady stream of foreclosures downtown.
I track it on a per property basis when it either goes back to the bank or sells on the steps.
#505 was foreclosed on 5/12/10.
#202 foreclosed on 10/13/10
#204 foreclosed on 9/13/10
#3305 foreclosed on 7/26/10
#306 foreclosed on 5/4/10…I think there’s more pain coming downtown.

Participant
However, what other posters were saying, which I don’t really agree with is that, quality of a house has nothing to do with it being custom. It’s only custom if you work with an architect and build a one of a kind house. Even if you use vinyl windows, it’s still custom.
LOL – I just realized by the definition that if you work with an architect to build custom to your needs it is a custom home…
I live in an undeniable tract home. Not upgraded. No major remodels.
BUT… we have a custom granny flat in our back yard. Hubby spent 18 months designing and redesigning to meet the needs of my in laws within the very limiting requirements of companion units in San Diego…So we have both… custom *and* tract… all on the same lot.

ParticipantWe have a homemade version – Two “T” poles with 5 lines strung between them.
I use them for all the “big” stuff… Sheets and towels are easy. I do jeans, and t-shirts. I don’t use them for smaller stuff like socks and undies because the labor trade off is too high.
I add a little vinegar as a rinse agent and the clothes aren’t as “crunchy” from drying on the line. Typical week is 3 loads drying with the “solar dryer.”
