ParticipantSOHO tour of Cliff Mays homes is happening today.
Too many other things on my plate – but it looks cool if you like mid-century and hacienda merged together.

ParticipantIt does seem out of scale that his mortgage broker got a sentance of half the time as this guy.
It’s also an interesting crossover from the OT topic about alcholism… this is a guy who had been seriously addicted to drugs, and then became seriously addicted to long distance running… substituting one addiction with a healthier one.

Participant
Hi sdrealtor,
As of now on sdlookup this property (5233 great meadow) is still active. Are you saying that it’s actually in “pending” instead of active?
What is ZipRealty? Is it a small real estate company? Are you basically saying they are listing to make as much money as possible?
To me, a asking price of $969K~$110K is def. outrageous for something like this. I’d say a low $900K or sub $900K offer is more realistic.
He’s saying it went pending and fell out of escrow. If you look at redfin you can get the details of when a home was listed, went pending, etc.

Participant
If you ever get to Chicago, the Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio in Oak Park is fantastic. Wright lived there with his family from 1889 until 1909 and the prairie that lay beyond Oak Park at the time was part of the inspiration for his style. There are many homes designed by him within walking distance, and most of the architecture in Oak Park (including the assisted living facility where my Mom lives) is influenced by his style.
