ParticipantThat’s OK if you never develop skin or lung issues, then you may end up staying a lot more in Vegas.
In my mothers retirement complex there are quite a few retired transplants from Hawaii (that’s in Valencia, very similar to TV weather wise and demographics).

ParticipantWhen you get older you need to get away from the cold/humidity of the coast in some cases.
IMO TV kind of fits that bill without getting too far from the major SoCal cities and airports.
It’s a good retirement destination IMO, you can always spend a few dimes at the casino LOL.
The issue i see with Julian is it gets really cold and snowy in the winter (that could be a Plus for some however), also its not easy to get to or out of (no major freeways).

ParticipantOK TG I got you down as yet another Boomer who is not planning on downsizing or moving after retirement (well at least not right away).
Seems most I know are either buying bigger (one story) or not moving.
Seems counter intuitive (other than the one story).

ParticipantIMO the Fed will only raise rates if the market can bear it.
if there is any sign of pain, they will reverse course and add gas.
they will error on the side of inflation.
as always IMO anyway.

ParticipantIMO the only level that matters is the level the Fed can live with.
That is the level where foreclosures are not killing the banks and and the economy moves (and the State can afford to pay it’s bills).
That is the level the fed (for better or worse) will force which ever way it can to occur.
anyway IMO.

ParticipantSee nothing to worry about.
Just kidding.
But really I think the current issue in SoCal is builders not keeping up with population growth.
We need to get more people to move to Texas.

ParticipantMy Mothers been retired for at least 20 odd years and living in a Golf retirement community (real nice course actually).
Anyway she has never played Golf yet and only talks to a few of her neighbors (A lot of other neighbors want to talk to her but she just does not want to be bothered all the time)
Anyway she spends about 90% of her waking hours online, go figure.
I go there sometimes she barely acknowledges that I am there LOL. Face stuck in I-Pad.
She is probably more millennial like than most millennial’s LOL.

ParticipantYep Oceanside is going to be completely remade within 10 years IMO, That would be a good choice if you don’t have school age kids.
Prices there are going to be similar to Carlsbad today IMO.
Pretend you have a 8 year old and answer the same question,
