ParticipantMy current Limits are 20k for a new car and about 10k for used.
Figure the minute you drive it off the lot, it loses about 25% and just keeps going down from there.
Any more than that is just a waste IMO (at current dollar value levels).
Maybe as inflation goes up so will my limits.
But I may buy a used high end Tesla for about 20K in the next few years.

ParticipantYou still get a news paper?
just kidding,
We still get the Sunday times (mostly for the ad’s and coupons) but you can get those on smart phones these days.

ParticipantWow I bet my Canadian colleagues are Pissed LOL.
Well a few had the chance to move down here when it was about 1 to 1, funny none did they stayed in the frozen snow ( I guess they were counting on Global warming or something).
Got to plan a trip to Canada this summer.
To Top it off this was in 2010, their housing market was still strong, ours was at or near the bottom.
I bet they are kicking themselves now.
Ever been to Ottawa in January LOL, now that is cold… burr

ParticipantThis was the deal I bought, seemed ab 50% what I saw anywhere else.
I know should have gotten the lithium, but I don’t use it everyday so this is OK for me.

Just bought a B&D cordless drill set
(about 35% off their list which seemed about 50% off list at home Depot or lowes)Did not intend on buying anything but saw the deal and my cordless drill bit the dust a few months ago, PITA using the corded one.

ParticipantMy Two cents,
If you going to sell and just be done with LL’ing or a property then I think now is not a bad time to do that.
If your doing it because you think you can buy back cheaper later then it most likely is not worth it.
Anyway just my two cents.

ParticipantFlorida actually has quite a bit of high tech down in Fort Lauderdale area, not to mention agriculture.
I would not mind living on the inter-coastal like a few of my colleagues do.

ParticipantThe united states is not greece, so there is not a lot of meaningful comparisons that can be made, sort of like Iceland,
it’s probably easier to compare Iceland to the politics and economy of say, Temecual, or maybe San Fernando than the U.S.A.

ParticipantWhatever, I have seen competitors, outsource, lose market share, then have to move it back on shore.
happen quite often.

ParticipantOutsourcing to India is not as easy as it sounds and not a cheap as it used to be.
(unless you want lousy work done).
Very very hard to get someone there at 11:00 AM here and work for more than a few months before quitting,
Actually much easier to hire someone here to work from midnight to 9 AM than it is in India.

Participant
”I work at Walmart. I enjoy greeting people everyday in the storefront… and they are paying me a heck of a lot for it..”
LOL well if you get a IT-job at Disney you get to walk around greeting people in one of those Goofy suits once or twice a year, and they pay very well also from what I understand.

Participant“suburban is losing out its attractiveness, therefore Temecula might not follow the path of old suburban areas, most notably the orange county .”
I respectfully disagree.
Industry follows its people (not the other way around)
How about Carlsbad?
The Growth does not have to be in town.

ParticipantThere is a lot of opportunity in California, They cannot find enough trades people or even people who will commit to an apprenticeship right now.
Everyone wants to sit in an air conditioned office in front of a computer screen.
