Participant(First I know shadows etc….)
Maybe this is a good simulation of what happens when we run out of foreclosures (I know there will always be a few, but for practical purposes), you know it is bound to happen someday.The-Shoveler
ParticipantWell as long as you don’t have to eat, (I could lose a little weight anyway).
I guess it’s a good time to be a farmer (as long as you have owned the land a while and you can control your other cost, water etc…).
What I am seeing is there are just a lot fewer sale items available, where as you used to be able to cut your food bill by just buying whatever was on sale that day and forgoing whatever was not on sale. Now it’s a lot harder.

ParticipantLooking like 2000 all over again to me, but what the heck do I know,
Getting kind of frustrating sitting on the side lines. And losing a small amount in QID (100 shares)
Makes me wonder if we will see the same thing happen as in 2000, where all of a sudden at the end of march everyone decides , Hey what the heck are we doing owning all these internet stocks!!!.Or maybe Marc Faber was right, all that money they are printing has to go somewhere.

ParticipantChicken/egg thing again,
No inventory because can’t raise prices so very very few voluntary sellers,Can’t raise prices because every once in a while a beat-up foreclosure or desperate short sale occurs knocking down the comps keeping a lid on prices so even if a buyer was willing to pay up, they can’t get approved for the loan,
Welcome to frustration land.

ParticipantWell it’s been a long time since I saw a Real-estate agent advertise for organic listings.
Just saw one.
Was in the land of QCOM so probably does not mean much however.The-Shoveler
ParticipantGreat to hear things are working out flu.
I wish you all the best.The-Shoveler
ParticipantI heard something interesting this morning, KLOS had a commercial on advertising for Software and embedded software engineers for a company in Corona (Riverside). First time I heard them advertising for Engineers since 1999.

ParticipantI think the only thing to derailed the market (and economy) at this point is a black swan type of event,
(Which is a possibility I happen to believe the market is not taking into account currently, so any reaction is likely to be VOLATILE ).The-Shoveler
ParticipantYea looks like your shorts are working for you as well,
My Boss only lets me trade on an IRA account I got from a one year Gig (401K conversion) so I am not even sure I could short if I wanted, so SDS, QID and TVIX is the only things I can play on the downside.
Housing , I think you will do well as long as you are cash flowing with some safety cash on the side just in case (don’t want to go too far in the margins on that either). Housing is a long term thing, (think 10 years, the rest is noise as long as it flows).
Bottom line, cash flowing is king!, everything else is gambling for the most part.The-Shoveler
ParticipantQID and TVIX working for me today.
Half out this morning on both those.IRAN and Europe doing damage to the market.
Me I think housing and everything is going to flop we get above 5 dollars a gallon, Time will tell.

ParticipantIf I was younger and had no tie downs in Socal maybe, I may have made the mistake of moving up to WA, I know a close childhood buddy who took a Job with Boeing and moved up there. After Three Years and buying a house up there to boot, he could not take it another Day, he quit, rented his house out (that was the early 90’s and like today, most new home owners were underwater at that time too).
Moved back got a Job down in SD and has been down here ever since.
(Oh he eventually sold that house in WA for a nice profit in the last boom, maybe a lesson there or maybe not).
Ok get to the point,
If the Job was local.
(even though everyone knows Socal is so over rated).The-Shoveler
ParticipantNothing up here, go try Vegas,
Sarcasm off
The fact that no one is responding probably gives you your answer.The-Shoveler
ParticipantFLU yes I think everyone (well at least me anyway) has voted you the smartest guy in the room at any given time.
