I was just reading a short story in the NY times about a city in West Africa they were saying is covered in bodies, it was totally out of control, no place to take them (no room left in any treatment centers).

It took 10 years 1989 – 1999 for most RE to recover.

I really think this and other developments (U.S. Oil production etc…) are what’s behind a lot of what is occurring in the mid-east and Russia,
Nations that rely on Oil production as their economic drivers are about to be made irrelevant and they know it.

Got to admit it sure looks like we are going down,
Would not have guessed it, in L.A. things are going gang busters.
Usually I can tell when we are going into a slow down just by the freeway traffic in L.A.
If we don’t bounce today I think we are going down.

Did you enjoy Vegas? Visitor numbers are back to peak levels and you’ll notice that hotels aren’t discounting anymore.

Had a great time, we were able to find a nice hotel a bit off the strip and was mid week so we got a good deal as well.
(no need for a real fancy hotel anyway, all it needs to be is clean and quiet for us Old fogies LOL).

Vegas is a great way to take a small “adult” vacation for a few days, no place for kiddies though.

We go about every two years.

I could see someone retiring there to cruse the casinos once a week or so.

Maybe there is some catch up happening out there in the wild as well.

The IMF was meeting yesterday, they said something to the effect that the slow growth of the world economy over the last few years is not acceptable and will strand too many on unemployment rolls.

I would expect extraordinary measures are still the order of the day.
