Drunkle, was the whole thread a gag or just your comment? After reading the original post I almost think it is a gag, because everything in So Cal is related in some way. I think everyone will agree the beginning of the decline is in full swing in Temecula and many people here predicted it would start this way, hitting the outlying areas the hardest and the quickest. Everything is on track so far. The 78 corridor and Eastlake will probably be next at bat.
I won’t even respond to the original post of Temecula being unrelated to S.D. prices since I can’t verify it wasn’t a joke to begin with.

temeculaguyParticipant???? I don’t really understand your post, 5yearrenter but if you are wondering why you aren’t seeing things fall in S.D. you will have to be more patient, you’ve rented for five years, it’s going to be at least one more I’m afraid. Build your cash, figure out where you want to live and and start a database of your own about the houses in that area. San Diego is a big county, areas that were built 2003 to 2005 or had high sales activity during those years will see the first declines, te lower income areas and least desirable ones will go first IMHO. In about six months a lot of the resets will have kicked in and if rates continue climb or stay where they are today you will see it because almost everything in S.D. bought from 03 to 05 was adjustable or interest only. Give it some more time.

temeculaguyParticipantFlatulence, these people that you know probably don’t hang out here so don’t refer to it as a public stoning, pleeeaasse. If we wanted to read the newspaper we would but the purpose of this place is to voice opinions, you have no right in asking us to not give an opinion regardless of our connection to the victim. If these people got ripped off trying to send money to poor children if Africa, I’d probably stand out there with a sign in hand with them. But that’s not what happened, the lost money trying to get rich quick. I bet they are really nice people and have nice families and I wish it hadn’t happened, I wish the broker wasn’t a crook and they hadn’t been greedy. I’m curious since you know them how come you didn’t try to buy five houses on a Nurse’s salary, didn’t they tell you about it when it was going on. Or did they tell you and you decided that it would be stupid to take on so much risk (sorry am I allowed to use the word stupid). I lost a grand on ETOYS and a grand on CDNOW back in the dot com bubble and I’m still mad at myself for spending my income tax refund that year on two stocks with flawed fundamentals, my fault, my money, no trip to Hawaii that year, that was all and that is all anyone should risk, what they can afford to lose. Learned my lesson, made a better investment the next year and went to London and Hawaii. Maybe if I had borrowed two million dollars that I didn’t have and couldn’t afford then lost that rather than some extra cash I had, then nobody would be able to criticize me or you would defend me. Even if the brokers hadn’t been crooks they would have lost their asses buying that much real estate they couldn’t afford at peak prices. I could have, we all could have, but we didn’t because that would have been stupid (sorry again, keeps slipping out).

temeculaguyParticipantNovice, what did the lawn cost? I think those fake lawns are cool but have been told they can be expensive initially. How long before you break even if you figure in water, mowing, sprinkler repair, pest control, etc. Do they go bad after a certain amount of time like carpeting?
How long before we see them in front yards?

temeculaguyParticipantI love hearing how other countries have better systems, healthcare or otherwise. You cannot believe any statsistics from a country that controls it’s media to the extent they do. In an open society such as the U.S. there is an entire indusrty trying to find injustices and error by government, corporations or institutions, it’s called the media and lawyers. I dislike them as much as the next guy but they actually force the various systems to improve. How would a Cuban or Chinese version of a Michael Moore or Mike Wallace fare in a communist country the minute he said something negative.
BTW The World Health organization in a study done in 2000, the Chinese public health system ranked 144 of the 191 UN member states ranked. I looked at that study and most of the ones that were worse were in Afica and Kenya beat them. And the WHO also said that the system in primarily private.
