ParticipantPretty big town to generalize, the outer edges and unincorporated areas have their merits. South, by the mall, West of the 15, North off center city and El Norte and the Jesmondene area and east to Bear valley/San Pasqual are all nice, but like the previous poster said, not that cheap. The bargains are in the middle and that is the real problem with the town. Gangs, drugs and illegal aliens, not here to discuss social issues and their causes, just that they aren’t very good on real estate. The trouble with the permimeter areas is that when you go to the store or send you kid to school, it’s pot luck. But if you speak Spanish or would like easy access to Meth at competative prices, this is the hood for you.
As always, when considering a purchase in an unfamiliar area, visit at night, get out of your car and walk the neighborhood. Then go to the nearest grocery store, gas station, etc, also at night. At the end of the night if you weren’t scared or injured and your cars is still where you parked it, you will feel better about the purchase. Also drive at the beginning or end of a school day. Last year I drove through esco every day on my way to work, here’s game to play as you navigate through the hundreds of kids on their way to school. It’s called “find the blonde kid.” Seven or eight miles of driving, exiting the 15 at the 78 east, down to ash and then all the way through the city to Bear valley parkway. I played it for a year and never won.
Poway and R/B aren’t that much further away and much more consistent.

ParticipantIt’s all noise, if Schumer had two or three senators in his camp they just left now that fannie and freddi lost half their value in the past few weeks just based on the preliminary results of their exposure to the first wave of crappy loans. There will be zero support to increase that exposure, it’s possible they will tighten standards, likely it will stay the same but highly improbable that they will loosen and expand them. I can guarantee that Schumer and other policians will continue to parade around with new ideas to save the people losing their homes but nothing will get done, it’s all for appearance sake to get votes. By the time the election rolls around it will be over, the majority of the arms will have reset and the houses will have been lost. It’s all pretend, there’s no way for the government to undo this, they didn’t cause it and they can’t fix it. Politicians will try to blame other politicians for it and claim to have a plan to fix it but understand that all it is, is noise.
SD, someone beat me to that repo I e-mailed you about. I won’t have to worry about the tough decision anymore, it got made for me, looks like I’m waiting it out.

ParticipantI am thankful that I live in a country where I am allowed to express my opinions and criticize people, organizazions, companies or government agencies, regardless if my opinion is wrong. Where I fell safe in my home and can generally look back and see that I was blessed to have been born in this country and even better, in this part of this country. Visit another country with your child, or even another state and listen to their reaction, it is an education to see their analysis when they realize that traffic, weight loss or breast size that we obsess over (myself included), are so trivial as compared to the worries of the rest of the planet’s population. I have so many people to thank in the past and the present that I won’t even try but I always stop what I’m doing when I meet a war veteran to thank them, especially WWII veterans because the opportunities to thank them are diminishing with each passing day.
And thank the rest of you out there, even those I may argue with, it’s my world and since you are living in it, having a discussion or a debate furthers my own knowledge base. You all have some piece of information that I need for my journey, thanks for posting it for free.
doublewide, it wasn’t me who mentioned the e-bay tactics but I will concur that some sellers try to sniff out your maximum bid with alternative profiles amnongst other tactics. Just send them an e-mail back offering your original bid, not your maximum and see what they do. Currently I’m in a two person bidding war for a Burberry trench coat and I am sure that the other person is the seller. They don’t realize that I’m an important person on their journey and I am about to begin the lesson.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
