ParticipantMarion, 2700 sq ft wasn’t available in the late 1990’s in certain parts of Redhawk for 200k, so it won’t be this time around. If you want a place in French Valley, Wildomar or parts of Temecula and Murrieta then you may find that or something close to that price but if you are picky about the particular area, development or tract, then expect to pay more. It is that way in an up or down market. It was like that 10 years and 20 years ago. I’m closing in on 20 years owning in various parts of the Valley and I can tell you that there has and always will be variance from area to area within the valley. Some houses are built better than others, some neighborhoods hold up better, so you may find 2700 for 200k but I wont. I’m not an elitist, hell I live in Temecula, I just know where I call home and where I like living, where my peeps are, and I’m not driving more than a mile even if it is cheaper. Personally I don’t want 2700 sq ft, unfortunately the tracts in the area I want to be in run a little large so a compromise is in order and that compromise will probably end up with me having more house than I really need.
On your gender roles thread, I didn’t post because I was a major player in the threads where guys whose wives were pushing them to buy. Quite frankly, it was some of my best work. I don’t feel like taking a beating for my insight, observations and words, I have ex-wives that fill that need in my life.

ParticipantIt’s not a bad deal, of course I haven’t seen the inside but that street has been one of the low price pioneers in redhawk, there are others in the 300’s and nothing past the 400’s, not sure why, it’s a nice area. Still, 298k is a good deal, but HLS you are right, it’s early and I’m still on my first drink. I’ve waited this long, might as well wait for the place to fill up before making a decision. In the immortal words of sir mix a lot, “36-24-36, Ha Ha, only if she’s 5’3”, if I wait till 10:30, those curves better be kicking.
All right, I ordered another drink but I’m still going to watch the parade while I sit.

Participant5yes, what street was it on? How did you find out about that auction? 2700 sq in Redhawk for sub 300k is exactly what I am looking for. I almost put in 300k offers on some Bank owned, on the market for six months stuff with list prices in the 370-380 range but they were pretty screwed up once I looked inside. Just name the street and I’ll know the property. Was that the only house being auctioned off?
Inquiring minds want to know. Do tell. If anything I want to use it as a comp when I lowball.temeculaguy
