It feels like all I’ve heard about over the last few years is how if someone is offended by something, we should immediately change it. Ever heard about teamwork? A little of that and we wouldn’t need to find skilled workers from outside the country. This country is made up of to many individuals. I would love to witness a day before I die where Americans could believe again that this is the best damn country in the world. Whatever happened to leaving history as history, learning from our mistakes but not forgetting them? It took the white house one day to shine a rainbow on the building, but five days to lower a flag for military personnel killed by a crazy brain washed idiot. Rant off.

Agreed about the US flag after the military shootings.

But I have no problem with reform of policing or criminal justice. Those are things long overdue. Nor do I have a problem with marriage equality. Anything that increases civil rights in the US is a good thing in my book.

There are plenty of things in legitimate need of reform, and the individuals calling for reform are doing this country a great service.

And some of us aren’t good at teamwork. I prefer to be a lone wolf. Or a tiger, as the case may be.

I think we should eliminate H1-B and allow for more immigration of people of different skill levels, not tied to a given employer. The H1-B system is too much like indentured servitude. Employers with political connections pull strings to bring in employees to replace existing workers at lower rates, and those employees are tied to that employer.

Remember what happened on 9/11? You saw a great country come together.

Hahahahaha. For a few weeks, I guess. You really mean, “came together in support of corrupt arseholes who exploited 9/11 to advance an authoritarian agenda?”

Cops were heroes and could do no wrong. Surveillance and violation of privacy was OK because it kept us safe. So was detention of people without trial on scant evidence. As was locking down the borders so as to harass and inconvenience everyone, never mind that the 9/11 attackers came in legally. And you still have to show papers to buy an Amtrak or plane ticket like some good Soviet citizen.

We’re just beginning to undo the damage caused by Americans “coming together” in an orgy of bootlicking after 9/11. I hope we can skip this sort of togetherness in the future and remain more divided.

The US response to a 9/11 was vast overkill. We should be wiser in the future. But many native-born Americans are too spoiled and ignorant to worry about a slow devolution towards authoritarianism. I think more immigrant voters would have actually moderated the process in the US, so I’m all for immigration.

US law doesn’t guarantee overtime above a certain amount of pay, nor does it guarantee vacation days.

Basically, the changer cable will have L, R, and ground leads.

The goal is to connect L and R to the tip and center conductor of a 3.5 mm jack, and the end ring to ground.

You can also incorporate a switch that switches L and R between the 3.5 mm jack and the CD changer downstream.

Easy. This is basically house-wiring stuff, not even real electronic design.

What you need is something that feeds audio into the changer connector on your radio.

If you know the pinouts of the connector, you can build it yourself.

There’s a connector (likely a round DIN) behind the dash between the radio and changer cable. There’s also a connector somewhere in the trunk linking the CD changer and cable.

The other option is to use an RF modulator. Not the kind that you plug into a 12V “cigar” socket, but the kind that you hard wire between the radio and antenna lead.

The connectors marked * is where you’d put the extra input or RF modular.

If you have a CD changer, you can inject audio from a 3.5mm jack directly into the cable from the radio to changer. Figure out what the pinouts are, make a box that switches between the 3.5 mm jack and CD input.

That’s how you connect a music player — works much better than a cassette adapter.

Yeah. Just what we fucking need. Isolation pods whisking people around with no interaction other than pre-planned interaction. Would make for a boring life, and make social control very easy since people of different social and economic classes would literally never need to interact.

That can be solved with increased density as well as using cleaner sources of energy. As I said — less congestion will actually encourage people to commute further.

The idea of creating an entire surveillance infrastructure for this is insane and stupid.

Nah: what we need is some level of economic and societal collapse, so neither government nor corporations will tell us what to do and spy on us. A break so we can evaluate where this kind of progress is taking us and whether we want to go there would be welcome.
