ParticipantDepends on the application and range you need.

Participant^^^
As it should be. If Google can’t play by basic privacy rules, then f’em.

ParticipantThe length of run is often longer, from the central office direct to the home, rather than an an intermediate distribution amplifier.
DSL systems that only run the twisted pair to an intermediate box with the DSLAM in it ARE actually faster.
Also, the coax won’t fit existing infrastructure. Much larger and bulkier than an unshielded twisted pair.
spdrun
ParticipantYeah, DSL runs over twisted pair (often old, 1940s-era twisted pair). Cable runs over a shielded coaxial cable.

ParticipantSan Diegans didn’t strike me as rude, as much as midwesternly distant in some areas.

ParticipantYes on the last two, no on the former. If social conventions were respected, we’d always have to marry within our own race, religion, and age group. No fuckin thanks.
spdrun
ParticipantWhat’s the problem? I believe even convicts have the right to get married — maybe she saved the state some money by holding the ceremony now. She did give him a minimum 50 year sentence.
Do they still give people a cigar before their executions? Justice is usually tempered with humanity.

ParticipantAlso, I don’t expect to be able to go off even if I have not done anything wrong. If you do you were raised wrong. I fear cops as much or more as I respect them, but common sense says acting like and ass or being hysterical isn’t going to work.
Actually, with the whole freedom of speech thing, she SHOULD be able to go off without risk of state violence. And the cop should stand there and take it, same as any other employee dealing with a disgruntled member of the public.
Raised wrong? Nah, maybe she was raised right. Not to respect shitstains, just because they happen to wear a uniform.
Hope she sues and bends over the city of Carlsbad bigtime. Hope the cops involved get hit by a large Mack truck.

ParticipantIf the cop really arrested her because she complained to his superiors about him cursing her out, then it’s a shame he didn’t get his yarbles stomped by an angry mob. Much as I hate the idea of vigilantism, some people deserve it.
Question is, should we comply with all demands of some asshole in uniform, or should there be limits if the demands are blatantly and completely illegal?
Edit: apparently the cop followed her and pulled her for a “seatbelt violation.” Basically, he stalked her and found a reason to assault her. Fuck that guy.
spdrun
ParticipantDA dropped the charges — it seems like she was ONLY charged with resisting arrest and assaulting a cop. What was the reason for the original arrest?
The whole thing stinks. And apparently there’s video of the original cop cursing her out and acting like a complete d’bag.
spdrun
ParticipantAll parties can be guilty of something , but the cop is still guilty of excess force AKA brutality.
Being a rude asshat is covered by the 1st Amendment last I checked. The Constitution isn’t dead. She might not be a nice person, but that doesn’t excuse official violence against her.
spdrun
ParticipantShe only got punched in the face after the second officer showed up and she increased her attempts to get free.
And it’s a pity she wasn’t an MMA expert who’d beat the shit out of those cowards. She was apparently arrested for asking questions and reporting the cops’ rudeness to the precinct. That’s not acceptable.
spdrun
ParticipantDon’t be dumb.
I’ll treat them politely, just like everyone else. I will not bend over and suck their cocks just because there’s a small chance one of them might be a thug. By that argument, I’d have to call everyone “sir” and treat them like a peasant treats a lord because they might be a psycho killer or mugger.
And if they ask me to suck, I’ll bite hard, even though pigskin isn’t kosher.
