I can see upgrades and incentives but again, if 70k came back in cash…. well… I just don’t see it. Like I said, I am skeptical.

As you see in the posting my advice to the guy was to call his attorney if he wanted to do anything but pay it. Again, as I remarked the debt does not go away, it may not be secured by the home anymore but it doesn’t go away.
He should look at it like he was able to get a 60k interest free loan for a couple years. Cannot complain about that!

5289 Foxhound went for 1.147M and 5318 went for 1.184M. 5318 is 100% financed while 5289 has only a single 417k mortage.
I would say these two homeowners provide quite a contrast in terms of financing eh? I will be interesting to see how they pan out.
