But the chances get higher as time passes. Several faults are overdue for a big one (at least as much as the scientists can tell). Actually, I’d feel better if a big one had alread happened in the last 50-100 years alleviating the tensions between the plates.

Maybe I should stay away from the houses built before mid70s!!! I don’t know why I haven’t thought about it. I am paranoid about earthquakes too, since I survived a big one (not in US). That pretty much excludeds UC, Clairemont, San Carlos.
