ParticipantOK you’re right. Screw saving money. But dammit I still believe in fish oil. I know there are some studies out there that say it’s not a panacea but fucjit. I believe.

Participantdebt des kill dreams, but perhaps the dreams deserved to die anyway.
the general chat among debtoverloaded law students and law grads is IBR (income based repayment). im not clear on the details, but basically you pay what you can, not much, based on your income, the gov pretends the debt is being serviced, the ponzi scheme continues, you get the debt forgiven after a lengthy period of regular payments, but get hit with a “tax bomb” of forgiveness income at the end. all the law students at http://www.jdunderground.com seem to believe that the law will change and it wont be taxable in the distant future.
my point being, if you eschew debt, or go too contrarian, you may miss out on some opportunities to pig out on other people’s money.
.9 percent/7 year financing on a year end Mini, 19,700$ new, witha free extended maintenance (7 years)…kind a feel like a sucker not taking on the debt in a way. couldve paid cash, but why?

Participant

The trick to getting rich. Get a little bit of money from a lot of people.
Yes, and do so without them really knowing it.
Back in the day, athletes had to have real jobs during the off-season because they were paid primarily from ticket sales. Today, they are paid primarily from advertising dollars. That way, people who couldn’t care less about sports (people like myself) are forced to pay the multi-million dollar salaries of professional athletes and entertainers. Millions and millions of dollars to run around on fields and throw or kick balls. And people complain about cops, firefighters, and teachers. 🙁
It’s all about advertising dollars, and these are paid by those of us who simply shop for our daily necessities. It’s not about how much attention we pay to these entertainer/athlete knuckleheads, it’s about getting the rest of us to pay for them through media/ad sales.
I wish their salaries were only paid by those who watched sports. In my ideal world, they would make all their money from ticket sales and sports-only channel subscriptions.
well, the advertisers beleive you are more into sports than you are. but collectively, on average, i guess we are pretty into sports. if the advertisers are laying out that much money, someone must be responding. I would like to see a graph on the number of sports endorsements, back from the days when i think it was just hank aaron telling me to eat my wheaties…

Participantthis is a pretty nice keychain. i think it will make me pay a little more attention to my keys. i would pay 50.00 not to spend 1 hour searching for my keys over the next year. looking for things is a disastrous waste of life.

ParticipantYou’re welcome to come convert to Judaism, but we are definitely not coming to your door or going to encourage you. That said, it’s going to be hard to replicate the level of post holocaust Jewish mother level of guilt in your psyche just by getting familiar with a few prayers. But I’d be willing to help try to instill this in you for a low fee…

$50.00 for a key chain? Heck no, scaredy! Are you the guy with the old, cat-pissed, A/C-less Honda who was considering a composting toilet; or are you the guy with the bespoke suits, fancy watches, and $50.00 key chains? Don’t like to be put in a box, do you? 😉
Anyway, just have a large bowl or basket near the door where you usually enter/exit, and put ALL of the junk you need to carry around on a daily basis in there.
Hmmm. A bowl. Near the exit. Hmmm. Seems easier to just leave the door open with the key in the car at all times.

Participanti went to ayard sale last weekend at a house down the street, not as nice a house, sold for 275,000 more than i paid for my place. it’s not as nice as mine. we got an awesome deal ona metal table, a former display table from macy’s. only 10bucks. guy was taking the money and running. i am going to say the price he just got on his house strikesmeas a bubble price. it’s too much… the metal table, however, under market price…i tried to buy a bike from his son but hisson simplywouldnt negotiate. im pretty sure he’s not going to get what hewas asking. he shouldve worked with me…
it’s weird how you can justzillow some guys address at a yard sale and find out exactly what his place sold for…
