Participant
I built my kids a really nice tree fort. More like a small cabin in a tree. They owe me to start using the thing soon, and too always remember it fondly. If they don’t they can just forget any help going to college.
I guess my kids will either remember all that fun random shot we did fondly or not. Hard to say they owe it to me though. I think they were having fun at the time but maybe it’ll be hellish in retrospect

Participant“The spiritual teacher and ’60s consciousness pioneer Ram Dass liked to say to students: “You think you’re enlightened? Go spend a week with your family.” The guy lived in India, had a guru, has been a spiritual mentor to two generations of seekers, and even though he didn’t specifically say “mother,” I know that’s what he meant.”
“The late Randy Gerson, a psychologist who did a lot of work in this field, once told a lecture hall full of his students that even the most healthily individuated adult, upon visiting his or her home or parents, has a maximum of 36 hours from the time the foot hits the tarmac until being sucked into an emotional time machine — returned to that old place in the family system’s cogs and wheels and push buttons.”
help your parents because it’sthe right thing to do…but steer clear of the crazy shit that you get sucked into almost instanty and certainly unconsciously. and try to be aware of the crazy shit youre doing to your poor little kids!

Participantthe 5th commandment refers to a duty to honor your mother and father. this has been interpreted by rabbis to include taking care of your parents, even if they are really shitty parents.

ParticipantThe next renter, no problem raising the rent. It’s psychological though for the current guy. Make him feel unappreciated. I disagree though, maybe a 2 or 3 % Inc is a good compromise. I was a good tenant same place 5 years LL raised it I think 2 perc. One year….. didn’t bother me at all. $30.00 FOR YOUR GUY. DOUBT THAT WOULD HURT OR BE QUESTIONED. Sorry for the caps.

Participantwell, the supreme court decided today that you can start all legislative sessions with an appeal to the divine guidance of pretend deities and their kids, so long as you don’t threaten anyone present with damnation or explicitly try to convert.

I do have a few questions
1. G-d. Actually exists or just pretend?
2. Afterlife. Yes or no?

ParticipantI don’t buy chick fil-a but not because their Ceo says douch e bag crap but because the chicken has weird petrol based preservstives. But I think I’d be well within my rights not to eat their alleged chicken simply because the CeO is a human dick who says and thinks things that rub me the wrong way and I could not be accused of controlling his thoughts.
Even tho his stupid chicken actually tastes ok. Screw them.

Participant

Love does conquer all, including fear, anger, bias, and greed. It is forgiving, and does not keep score. That said, if you love her, it would be an undeniable truth that would not need the advice of your fellow piggs!
so what are you saying? Everyone who divorced never truly loved their partner? Sometimes you may love the other person but that may not be enough to maintain a healthy long term relationship. I think love is certainly a very important component to a relationship but for a relationship to succeed long term there have to be other factors in place as well…
There is a modicum of truth in the saying “one cannot live on love and fresh air alone” ;)
Personally I wouldn’t kick him out of the nba. Not even sure it hurts the brand overall. Free publicity.
But it’s definitely not a free speech issue. It’s a rich man’s club issue.
