Participantsmall government? goddamn liberal! real rightwingers support miniaturized govt. or at least small enough to be drowned in a tub sized.
everyone wants rightsized govt though, dont we? or just smaller and smaller?
did it get smaller with the repubs in charge?

Participantits astonishing to me that people only vote when riled up.
maybe you should lose the vote if not used for a period of time.

ParticipantI work all day, and get half-drunk at night.
Waking at four to soundless dark, I stare.
In time the curtain-edges will grow light.
Till then I see what’s really always there:
Unresting death, a whole day nearer now,
Making all thought impossible but how
And where and when I shall myself die.
Arid interrogation: yet the dread
Of dying, and being dead,
Flashes afresh to hold and horrify. The mind blanks at the glare. Not in remorse
—The good not done, the love not given, time
Torn off unused—nor wretchedly because
An only life can take so long to climb
Clear of its wrong beginnings, and may never;
But at the total emptiness for ever,
The sure extinction that we travel to
And shall be lost in always. Not to be here,
Not to be anywhere,
And soon; nothing more terrible, nothing more true. This is a special way of being afraid
No trick dispels. Religion used to try,
That vast moth-eaten musical brocade
Created to pretend we never die,
And specious stuff that says No rational being
Can fear a thing it will not feel, not seeing
That this is what we fear—no sight, no sound,
No touch or taste or smell, nothing to think with,
Nothing to love or link with,
The anaesthetic from which none come round. And so it stays just on the edge of vision,
A small unfocused blur, a standing chill
That slows each impulse down to indecision.
Most things may never happen: this one will,
And realisation of it rages out
In furnace-fear when we are caught without
People or drink. Courage is no good:
It means not scaring others. Being brave
Lets no one off the grave.
Death is no different whined at than withstood.Slowly light strengthens, and the room takes shape.
It stands plain as a wardrobe, what we know,
Have always known, know that we can’t escape,
Yet can’t accept. One side will have to go.
Meanwhile telephones crouch, getting ready to ring
In locked-up offices, and all the uncaring
Intricate rented world begins to rouse.
The sky is white as clay, with no sun.
Work has to be done.

Participant
Are you Black? Why do you need to oil yourself? Since you don’t use soap, shouldn’t your own body oil be enough? My hair is oily enough… no need to add.
My Black guests at my short term rental leave shea buyer oil all over the place!
I used to take propecia for hair but no more. Thankfully I don’t have a bald spot. Short hair is just fine.
i just want to be a nonflaky moist old white guy. my feet were getting a,little, gross. white and cracked, almost looked like the feet of a corpse from certain angles, just so old and dry, and now, after months of self pedicures and soaking in apple cider vinegar and ointments, they are wonderfully supple and fleshy
more oil! so moist.

Participantre hair recession, jamaican black castor oil helps with hair growth.
i stopped using soap and shampoo and commercial deodorant over 2 months ago, except hands.
just water and washcloths.
i do oil myself up from time to time, including hair and armpits.
jojoba oil, castor oil, beeswax, coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter, tea tree oil in armpits
i will never use soap again. water is enough. ive also cut way back on showrrs
just use washcloths to towel down.but i love oiling myself.
soap and ‘poo just dry me out.
my water needs are down radically. dont need to clean shower as much.

Participant
So I guess this is the best conservative judge out there ? Nah, probably the only one willing to play their brand of ball.
Meanwhile McConnell says he wont be intimidated by protesters, iow he has no compunction to listen to the will of the people.
justice will be kavs wife dumps him, makes embarrassing disclsures leading to excessive drinking, and a dui where the md. police find kav with squi, mike and a hooker in an 83 toyota supra with a gram of coke on his cock and a hookers face in his lap

Participant
That’s a good point scaredy…I think I went from indifference, let the results of FBI investigation to decide, to “he lacks the temperment to be a judge”..
. pass…anyway, I am trying to avoid American politics….it seems like one big soap opera for rich, old, ugly people.
fair enough. i like to think the courts, while not sacred, wouldat least pretend to be nonpartisan and thoughtful and that politicians of both sides could at least speak up against a jurist ranting about unsupported conspiracy theories.
that is just fucked up, so, the republicans can go fuck themselves. my Green party vote wont affect either side, but still, what a bunch of ratfuck old shitheads.
fuck them

ParticipantIt’s not scary to think about 2% of rape claims being false if we lived in a society where prosecutors prefiling or jurors postfiling truly applied the reasonable doubt standard to criminal trials. However, that’s not the case. Jurors often have doubts, but feel it’s unsafe to let a potential rapist go, so they convict.
In the context of Kavanaugh, it seems like the thinking of senators should be, well, there’s a 98% chance we are going to confirm a lying, sociopathic drunk rapist on the supreme court for life. Maybe we should investigate and err on the side of caution.
I would think that would be partisan point of view. The neutral point of view would be, there’s a 100% chance he’s a liar, so let’s just put another candidate on the court.

Participant
..I mean…let’s play devil’s advocate here…. what if, Ford has the wrong guy and it isn’t “100%”…
It seems like even before the testimony or proof or anything , many Democrats already made up their mind to believe Ford…
Isn’t that sort of scary? I mean I thought the way it works here is there is a presumption of innocence.
And then there’s Rachelle Michell. 25 years of prosecuting sex crimes…And people now suggesting she is a partisian hack because of her report…. Really?
yes. real prosecutors meet with alleged victims, for hours, reinterview after more investigation, talk to every witness they can.
then when the def. lies about obvious stuff, assume hes lying about more important matters.
prosecutor is crap.

Participant
It’s the vengeful partisanship and spittle flecked threat of “what comes around goes around”. I would actually like a judge who drinks, gets high, gets into barfights sans the lying and women issues.
the democratic conspiracy rant was uncool for a judge.
also, the questions about G-d were simultaneously an insult to believers and atheists.
that said, ill take him.
