ParticipantBy the way, the construction quality in much of 4S is actually quite poor and will not stand the test of time.
This is a fairly bold statement to throw out. I am not going to say you are either right or wrong but I would like to know what qualifies you to say that this is poor quality.
Are you a builder? If you are an engineer do you work with Housing. Are you a materials expert?
The way I see it things are generally improving aespecially as consumers demand quality. This has been true of the automobile industry and as far as I can tell it it true the housing industry aswell. Again I am not qualified to say with certainty. Are you?

Seems as though you are challenging people to think critically and people are jumping on your back for doing so.
Here is maybe a different question for the board? When is the last time you considered voting for someone from the other party. Seems to me that people go into the voting booths these day and will vote Dem or Republican across the board without knowing anything about the conadidate or in many cases the issues. Ask the average Democratic voter what public policies Dems stand for and they are unable to communicate basic policies. The same holds true for Republicans. The most common response is becasue mI think there better. “Well help me understand whay? ” and there is silence.
I sort of like the fact that Hilary and Obama are in the race because I routinely here people say they will vote for these candidates because of their sex or race. Seems as ignorant ans voting for a president becaseu of his party line.
Last itme I looked Clintons economics during his second term were very Republican in tone. I know house and Senate were republican so he was limited. Yada Yada Yada

Short note to let you know that I enjoy your posts and insights. I think that they are generally on the mark. But here is a question? How would things have unfolded with a democrat at the reigns?
If Republicans have been so bad, why is it the the Democrats can’t run someone that can present a message as to why their party would be better for the American Public?
These questions are not slanted they are simply rhetorical.

ParticipantPerry,
Copper Prices are up. Minimum wage is going up. Enforcement of labor Laws up. Oil and gas prices are up.
Contractors might be willing to accept less but they still have to buy raw materials and if the cost of materials is up then there is less ability for them to lower costs.
