Participant

I have to admit, I was very unhappy about my situation in Temecula during and following the crash. I viewed myself as a responsible buyer, I put a relatively large amount of money down on my house and at least on paper lost it all.
I’m not a RSF phony and 40-50k is a lot of money for me to lose.
I’ve doubled down since then, I’m just now recovering from the crash, and I don’t won’t some johnny-come-lately troll derailing any recovery.

I’ve lived in a lot of different places around the country including san Diego, and Temecula has been the best value by far.
Temecula: So Cal weather, Texas Prices.
So you are not genuine Temeculerian, you are simply astroturfing? You should just shut up and let the 6packer do the talking – he sounds like a guy I would love to have as my neighbor. You sound like a guy who will call people ‘phony’ just because they are better off financially. Don’t stress so much, life is finite. What you giveth is what you geteth.
On the contrary, I’m a great neighbor as I mind my own business.

ParticipantBG: If one can afford to buy in Temecula Proper, there are plenty areas of San Diego one could buy in as well.
I could move to San Diego tomorrow if I so desired, and while I don’t totally discount your thoughts and this has been well covered, there are obviously really good reasons to choose Temecula over San Diego.
I make considerably more than the average person who lives in San Diego, and in fact there is considerable wealth in Temecula.
I guess what it comes down to is schools: except for a few exclusive areas of San Diego, Temecula Schools are in general better than San Diego schools.

Hollywood and west LA were suburbs.
But Temecula is too far away to be a vibrant city.
I’m interested in how people are moving back to the city like Washington DC and downtown SD. I think the city and some select close suburbs (such as alexandria, va, Carmel Valley and carlsbad) are the future. Temecula, not so much. If you’re just a home and family person who doesn’t care to be near cultural stimulation, then Temecula is fine. But so is a ranch in the middle of Kansas…. so long as you have some way to make a living.
But me, I’d rather live in an apartment in the city than a huge house in Temecula. I like traffic and people all over. Waikiki, Honolulu is great. You can walk out every day and enjoy all the restaurants with all the tourists.
Obviously you haven’t been to Temecula lately.
Temecula: 125,000
Murrieta: 125,000250,000 in Temecula Valley!!
Wow.

Thanks for all the advice!
We got great news from our realtor this morning about comps in our area. Way higher than we expected!
Going to be listing this week.
So happy to get out of Temecula and back to San Diego where we belong!
Glad to hear you’re leaving….
Thanks! Taking our money and running back to San Diego! There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home….
You just can’t stop, can you?
I doubt you’re even from San Diego in the first place.
I knew all along you had a goal to denigrate Temecula. You fooled some, but not me.
I read between the lines.

ParticipantI just closed (re-fi) in about that time period with Box Home Loans.

ParticipantI’m assuming the dems have the power to appt the next fed boss.

Participant
In the short term, sure, why not? We’ve already had several breaks in continuity. Besides, the Fedheads need to create another buying opp for their corrupt cronies.
That’s a good point: create another crisis…?
Wouldn’t that hurt the dems in the 2014 midterms?

ParticipantDoes anyone really believe the fed will wind down QE?

ParticipantIn my perfect world KIBU/spdrun I would prefer those commutes over my current one as well, but unfortunately I don’t have the brainpower to live in RSF, Del Mar or even 4S Ranch.
Hell I can’t even figure out how to move to 92078 (SEH).
I’m looking at the big picture though – I plan to retire (early) within 10 years (at the latest) in Clovis, California near the foothills of the central Sierra’s.

ParticipantI went from a 1400 sq ft house to 2400 sq ft and definitely appreciate the space.
But I also have a large family.
I also think the 9ft ceilings in my 2400 sq ft house also goes a long way in making the house feel roomier.
I could make it in a smaller house, but only if I had no other choice.
As far as the beach is concerned I go twice-three times a year and that’s enough for me.
