Participantop, you also got a few good tax write-offs, so it wasn’t exactly a 56k loss. Most of what you mentioned can be written off.
You’re right though, a 2004 price is the highest you will get for at least 3-4 more years. The US dollar is now in the toilet, it will take a few years to whip it back into shape.

Participantop, a lot of that land has zero power and zero water. Running power to most of those spots will cost 10-20k. I know because my dad did his up near reno. I wouldn’t buy that land unless you LOVE it.
