Participanti am kind of interested in renting the RV vs. owning. If I owned one I would be too tempted to put a tenant in it.

ParticipantOn the other hand, I do wonder , should we call obesity what it is? Isn’t it self mutilation with food and life style?
I am sure we have no problem seeing an anorexic as self mutilating and the anorexic probably agrees…but when we do obese and all the health hazards that come with it, it’s sugar coated.

Participant

hell, eat whatever you want…just trying to get the numbers in line with lower mortality statistics. i need to live.
.
Exactly how I feel. You need to live or want to live? I want.
Eat lots of steamed veggies and wild caught fish. No processed food.
Funny how eating simple is now considered stuck up.
Since I now eat simple, I prefer an electric cooktop in my home. Smooth and blends in almost seamlessly with the counter.
You’re teasing right? I feel worse about eating wild caught fish than any other food item. I do it , but it’s terrible what happened to the oceans and worse to the lakes and streams. Much worse killing wild animals than domesticated ones now that they have been so hard hit for so long( some populations of game being possible exceptions). I always pray to God that after we are gone the wild things can recover…and I am atheist….that’s my only prayer.
But lack of “stuck up” and inherent awesomeness of seamless cooktops going together, that’s got to be a joke right? Either way I am going to laugh at what I want to and eat what I want to.

ParticipantThe French find any find personal dietary prohibition as bad manners…it truly is offensive and also self-belittling to dote on these things publicly. They are healthier than us.
Yeah, I more or less got that reading The Omnivore’s Dilemma.
But what’s up with all this exceptionalism through blood and food? That’s what it tends to look like anyway.
Stuck a feather in his cap …. but a lot of this stuff seems more about conceit, one ups-manship and eating disorder than health. Nanny nanny boo boo I didn’t have sauce in my stir-fry and you did!

ParticipantI am just glad they don’t cost much to run. We have two stand up freezer fridge combos and a a 5′ chest freezer running and it doesn’t cost much at all compared to the convenience. I took out half the shelves from one of the fridges and we can put stuff in very large pots in there. WIth a big family that cooks a lot this is really cool.
The Bosch dishwasher from the outlet store has just been amazing.
The other appliance I am really impressed with is the grill outside. It’s a genesis not really all that expensive, about $600 4 or 5 years ago. We lost the cover from it to critters chewing on it and never replaced it, so it sits in the weather year round. It still works and looks like it is almost new . We use it a lot too.
My tenant has the cheapest fridge and stove I could get and he apparently loves living there. He brings us fruits and cakes and chocolate from Trader Joes almost every week. Pays on time, every time.

ParticipantIt’s just bait to attract people to their site…quality is bad but that’s not the point.

Participant

Just make sure the don’t come on your lawn. And if they do, yell at ’em to get off your lawn.
Good advice from zk. Also, have you tried shaking your fist at them?
His fist is probably always shaking but he has a legitimate concern with 3 pit bulls…That said, at least the girls are not likely NAMBLA members.

ParticipantThey might be able to scale a 5′ fence…not jump it. I would be worried about them breaking through the fence too. They can tear one up pretty fast. They can also just get out, and if they get urge, attack you or your kids in your front yard. I had an elderly neighbor friend back in the city who barely survived being taken down by two of these animals.
If you see them beating on the fence at all you have to put a stop to that. Maybe as a precaution run a temporary wire fence with t-post on the shared fence in case they knock a few boards out.
What kind of moron landlord rents to someone with 3 pit bulls? Why don’t you call and ask the owner if they are aware that these dogs are here and if they are concerned about the liability or your children. That’s why the girls live there, because they found someone so lame as to let the dogs live there too.

ParticipantYou have to very quickly put a party together and invite them! At least a little dinner party. It’s the right thing to do.

ParticipantI think you should just move.

ParticipantI see a lot of plans like that , more like a legal services club, that doesn’t look bad but it’s nothing like coverage for a defense of any kind.
Funny enough, the NRA is a path to “Stand your ground” legal defense insurance….or it looks like they do. I wonder if you could use it if you defended yourself with something other than a gun? Kind of joking. It looks like some of these kind of things post bail, and a host of other things if it comes down to it.
Thanks for the reply.

ParticipantO.k. Talk with an attorney enough to know what I am going to do.
I am going out there and fix the road. I am going to be calm patient and friendly to this person and tell him to go away if he doesn’t act the same immediately.
I’ll let him test my space if thats what he wants to try again. If he forces me to defend myself I will try to continue to be nice and not hurt him too much. I can fight pretty good and who would prevail has never really been and issue.
I’ll have to watch the car thing . The sheriff probably told him to knock it off and it’s like he will comply. But if he does it again I will be ready to move away because I can see him coming from a distance and call the sheriff again.
I think it’t better to let the neighbors go after a lawyer if they want to, they have nothing to stand on and I have a lot on my side to possibly get a counter suit or prejudice of some sort. Let the Judge decide what’s going on at that time though.
My homeowners policy specifically names these three easement sections by parcel number and a brief description. I had my agent do that as soon as I was finished with the title company. Thinking about legal defense insurance if just to cancel in a few months when things cool down.

ParticipantMy wife ask the question ” have we made it very clear that this person is to stay away from us and that we don’t want to talk to him?” Can I have him officially served with a completely un-ambigous statement about what I want from him in that regard. Maybe say in the absence of your willingness to deal with this situatipn in a safe manner, do not talk to me approach me or especially touch me. It is against the law to deface my work in the easement… If wish to communicate over this issue begin with my lawyer or your own. Thank you!
I say officially served because he won’t pick up certified mail. Would a message like that be useful?

ParticipantHe has bullied one elderly man, I hate to say it but the elderly man (allegedly) put him in his place. How that happened I don’t know but I was told the guy was threatening and crowding the older man. He now uses the road. The older man was clearly establish on the original short easement , his dad built it! I don’t talk with the elderly man because it pains him, all this trouble. I think we are o.k we would talk to each other but I know my involvement with him in this , even though we were getting along o.k. has strained him at times and I will not do that again. I have a lot of friends /allies in the neighborhood but none of them have a stake in the easement section where their is trouble. To tell you the truth though the neighborhood is really dysfunctional! Lots of fighting, reporting, fearing, maybe hating!
Only two people who actually use the easement have been directly involved with making trouble. The original one did everything in their power to stop me from getting the easement for years until I finally did. Once I got it they tried to get me in trouble with the county for grading my road on my property to connect through …or maybe the woman with the garage did.(did a light bulb go on?) That grading issue was a big fight but I won with the help of Dianne Jacobs with no real damages and without going to court. These two are working together. I am pretty sure when I go out there the one with the better vantage point calls the bully.
The most troublesome one is the guy that is really harassing me when I go out there. He is the one who bought away from an owner I was on very good terms with, who possibly sold in part because of these other parties. I pretty sure he was under similar kinds of harassment and being scared by the never substantiated often officially rebuked threat of environmental issues.
One person who keeps bringing the environmental thing up doesn’t own or use the easement but has the garage very near the property line , or if what I was recently told is true, actually in the easement.
I loathe court proceedings, my wife even mores so, but this will not stop, everybody knows it. If the physical stuff does, stop because of police calls or whatever, they will do something else.
Trying to work up the nerve to call the litigators, talk to a few anyway. I am trying to learn a little bit so there is less chance by getting ripped off by a lawyer. They might have some ideas…and help convince me of one course of action over another….
Mediation is not binding, but shows good faith and hopefully really is done in good faith . Some people use it to get something they don’t deserve. I believe I would have to give up something I should not have to if mediation were to be “successful”. Basically cooperate with extortsion with no guarantee that the harassment(s) won’t continue. That’s my take on mediation.
