I use to change oil based on manual, now I change gassers at 5,000 and my diesel at 10,000 mile intervals, no problems so far doing that. I do have problems sometimes finding good diesel oil, as it has to be the good stuff. I used at least 3 different brands due to availability issues. Walmart does usually have the best price.
moneymakerParticipantInteresting how Adolph Hitler was elected right after a recession, he was a very emotional speaker who always just kept repeating himself over and over, thus demonstrating his simple mind. He attacked treaties and advocated nationalism. I’m just starting to notice that when people say it couldn’t happen here, they could be wrong.
moneymakerParticipant“Nanotechnology is the future”! As anyone that reads comic books knows. The fine line when it comes to the immune system is to keep the body from attacking itself. That is why so many people claimed aids was made in a government lab, because if possible it would be plausable. OT: Anybody see the Scrips National spelling Bee yesterday, that 11 year old kid was f*****g amazing.
moneymakerParticipantI think it is interesting that the cure for polio was found 64 years ago, a very specific disease, where the cure involved stimulating the immune system. Now today they are talking about stimulating the immune system in a more general way to fight cancer. It has taken science way too long to appreciate the immune system we each have within us. Have no idea what Theranos claims but since they are talking about a drop of blood or less I will guess it involves nano technology, which I hear is very hot in upstate New York.
moneymakerParticipantDoes anybody want to talk about the science behind Theranos? Reminds me of this kid from a few years back https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Andraka seems today’s scientists are not like Jonas Salk from years ago.
moneymakerParticipantSounds to me like a recipe for disaster, I believe the student debt would be dischargeable once co-mingled with the mortgage debt and when house prices fall, and they will, then boom they would all file for bankruptcy and start fresh again later on.
moneymakerParticipantSo i did sell my paper silver and made a few dollars per ounce/share, just realized though that when I sell my hard silver bullion I will not have to pay taxes on the gains. Am i missing something or is this a really good way not to pay taxes on gains. Know I will pay transaction fee but that will still be less than income/capital gains taxes. I bought at $1 over spot and will sell at 75¢ below spot hopefully.
moneymakerParticipantflu, I think you nailed it above. Many people are not selling, hence low inventory. History may show however that now was the perfect time to sell. If I were a landlord then I would be very tempted to sell now, in my mind now is the perfect time to sell. It’s a very individual decision however and depends on lots of variables for everyone.
moneymakerParticipantYes, it is smarter to rent right now!
moneymakerParticipantMaybe zero rates is the first step to getting rid of money all together like on Star Trek ☺ . The big bear hiding in the closet is that these low rates are costing the government money, not exactly sure how but nothing is free, not even artificial low rates. Does it contribute to the national debt?
moneymakerParticipantI don’t think I’ve ever paid for a concert ticket, just go when it’s free. I do agree though that tickets for everything seem too high, so I vote for staying home unless I get free tickets. Been to sporting events, but always got free tickets, can’t imagine paying face value plus parking fees.
moneymakerParticipantWhat is the PE for the DOW now compared to then? Unemployment was actually higher in 1982 than right after the BB (bubble burst). Think when everything is considered we are on the precipice of something big, especially when you throw in Trump and government spying/TSA
moneymakerParticipantZillow says my home went up 1.5% in the last 30 days yet rent zestimate went down 1%, go figure. The quickest moving inventory is in the 600-750K range.
moneymakerParticipantOT: Can see a day when people between 50-65 marry just to get health insurance. Similar to marrying to get citizenship, except no interviews or hassles.
