ParticipantCan’t you just get an old pair of jeans at a thrift store and wear them while working outside till they look like the War of 1812 flag?

ParticipantWe go to concerts all the time.
There are good deals out there…by that I mean under $100/seat. Watch the Indian Casinos for some good deals, I’ve found.
I’ve heard the reason tix are so expensive now is that is how bands make money. With music moving online, not much money is selling the music. But the concerts, thats where they rake it in. Can’t steal a concert.
My wife is lobbying to get KAABOO Del Mar tix right now…looks like we’ll be ponying up to spend 3 days at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. At least a lot of great bands will be there.

ParticipantJazz at the Merc in old Town temecula theatre every thurs is $15.00 a tkt. Very intimate classy venue with great acoustics and very cheap drinks. Some good performers come through there…
I’m gonna see Danny green …

Warning…because it’s jazz, the median age of audience members is about mid 70s.

ParticipantI quit going to concerts when tix became over 30 a pop. Fortunately I was able to see great bands like Duran Duran, Ozzy, Metallica and so forth years ago when it was less expensive. Now I’d rather just watch old concerts for free on my HDTV.
Crowded, overpriced, rude people and too low with no good seats makes concerts now so not worth going too.

ParticipantEvery ticket at the merc is less than 25 feet from the stage..

I’ll second that.
I would rather save up and go to one concert a decade and pay for the first couple rows, than go to 15 concerts and sit in average seats.
Or just enjoy a good musician playing covers at an intimate venue.
I think I’m getting old.

ParticipantI don’t think I’ve ever paid for a concert ticket, just go when it’s free. I do agree though that tickets for everything seem too high, so I vote for staying home unless I get free tickets. Been to sporting events, but always got free tickets, can’t imagine paying face value plus parking fees.
