…and since when is following the Constitution fringe? You can’t even name a fringe idea that he presents. It’s kind of just slander in cyberspace. Fringe is what Obama and the Republicans present:
1. Fringe is spending 100% more tax money than we make every year. We’ll be around $2T in deficit this year.
2. Fringe is repealing the constitution without an ammendment and locking up Americans in overseas jails without a trial.
3. Fringe is monitoring everything on the internet and arresting people based on that information without a search warrant.
4. Fringe is allowing the money supply to be controlled by 12 men in a locked room with no accountability.
5. Fringe is being pulled over by the TSA while you drive on a road and being searched with no warrant.
etc, etc.[/quote]
Excellent points.

ParticipantI think nowadays the publics opinion of those programs are waning significantly. Unfortunately, like most things in government, once the power is given to them, they have a hard time giving it up.

Social Engineering. The Human Hacking….
At one point in time, a lot of this childs play was part of mandatory study/education for techie geeks.

Of the 620 bills sponsored by Ron Paul during his long career in the House of Representatives, only four have ever made it to a vote on the House floor and only one of those became an actual law. An analysis by The Washington Post shows that Paul’s success rate of 0.2 percent falls far below that of most legislators, as Paul has chosen to stand up for his personal crusades, rather that build coalitions for more popular, but less ambitious, proposals.
I think that captures the essence of Ron Paul pretty well.
One of my favorites is the bill he proposed to end income tax. You know, because it’s unconstitutional, of course.
And don’t bother with the “Ohio wasn’t a state” nonsense:
That’s an interesting response to an invitation to watch the man speak. Are you saying that someone who stands up for and fights for his ideals is a failure?

ParticipantIf you’re lucky, you’ll find one with a solid foundation with the electrical and plumbing already upgraded.
If it has the original windows, make sure someone hasn’t painted the tracks. They’re supposed to be bare wood so they can expand and contract. Also check that the sash weights haven’t fallen. If it has replacement windows, check that they were done well and don’t leak.
The house we bought was built in 1940. I’m amazed at the craftsmanship. Every door in the house is perfectly square. Every angled cut is perfect. If we maintain it, it will last forever. We were lucky and found one that had the plumbing and electrical already done. It even has a 200 amp service!

ParticipantWe went through this as well. The sellers took a nice oven that we had stipulated would have to stay. They also took the really nice low flow toilet that was there when we first saw the house. I think they were betting that we would let it go since the short sale process took 9 months. They thought I was crazy when I refused to close, but they forked over $1000 for us to purchase a stove and toilet we wanted.

ParticipantWhat annoys me is the thought that people will actually use the rail. I would be willing to bet that the TSA will make it a nightmare to board the thing, and at that point it will be just as quick to drive. Even if it was quicker on the train, I would probably still drive so that I would have some form of transportation when I got to my destination. I also feel that we should be spending money on our national airspace system rather than ground based transportation. That is where the future is.

ParticipantI do sympathize with you. You tried to do the right thing, and now you’re screwed. This permit nightmare you’re going through is exactly why people don’t get permits for work done to their houses.

ParticipantDid you have a home inspection done before you bought the house?

ParticipantI would check the shower head first to see if there is a water saver disk in it. That could be your problem.

ParticipantI don’t understand why anybody uses the big banks. I have free checking with free atm at my credit union as long as I have $50 in savings there. They do charge me $5/month to use the bill pay features, but that’s it.
