I have an issue with all these videos taken on phones or in a dash cam or put on a cop’s gear is. For an honest cop, it probably won’t show much. But for a cop that isn’t, he/she/they would simply turn off the cam, or smash the one that belongs to the person. If the camera has a live stream and storage, it won’t be that easy for that video to simply “disappear”
There’s no reason to “burden” the cops on turning the cameras on and off. That function should be taken away from them. Once they leave their vehicle or walked more than a few paces, the cameras should be turned on automatically. The technology to do those things are widely available and are already tightly integrated into our daily lives – smart keys, accelerometer sensor, etc. – that it should be that difficult to build them into these gadgets.

which makes one wonder; if the police ask you for your identification, and you’ve done nothing wrong, do you have to give them your id?
Depends on whether you want to escalate or mitigate the situation. You will most likely be on the shorter end of the stick if the situation become confrontational and physical. Getting your teeth knocked in or your face rearranged or even getting yourself killed is not worth it – even if the punks get prosecuted for their crimes (and that’s a big if).

Participantqcom is at a crossroad. It no longer has the kind of monopoly it used to enjoy. It will need make some drastic changes soon to avoid ended up like some great (potential) companies of the past – encad, proxima, etc. A shake up and perhaps even a break up is not a bad idea. For sure the culture there is awful and very tribal. All things being equal, you’re more likely to get hired and promoted if you’re chinese or indian. Sadly, broadcom has becoming like that also in recent years.

You mean like one of these?
So overrated. The smart money is buy east of the 15 along the 8 freeway.
We all have different preferences. We bought/built in RSF 20+ years ago, and some friends in our area who are downsizing (kids are gone) are pocketing a bundle and moving to smaller homes in locations (some multiple–San Diego and elsewhere) they prefer. To each his/her own.
Flyer,
I was just messing with you – in case you didn’t detect the sarcasm in my post. cheers.ltsddd

I’d sooner move to San Quentin. At least room and board are free and it has great views of San Francisco Bay.
LOL … Alcatraz has an even better view. You could get a job there as a museum docent and hob-nob with tourists from all over the world five days per week, spdrun! Job includes unlimited free ferry rides to/from SF!
Why go anywhere far? La Mesa is a perfect place for you. It even has a state prison that has called La Mesa home for the last 30 years or so.
wtf? Are you referring to La Mesa (San Diego County), CA??
I admit I don’t know much about la mesa. It could be la mesa in tijuana since I hear that spanish is widely used.

Participant
If this was a thread about cars, it would be about how some folks would call a Ferrari a piece of shit because it has a $200k price tag and surprising it doesn’t have a “higher quality” 4 cylinder engine from a 1989 Toyota Camry…

Thank you for stepping up and allowing me to pass the olympic torch to you.
I’m going to get my nice bag of popcorn and just watch it from the sideline.
May the force be with you….
interesting…I am just throwing random stuff out there. Doesn’t take much to get a response.
I think Rich should buy you, BG and masayako a beer or two. I think you guys have single handedly generated more posts during the last fews days than the entire forum has for the whole year.

Participant

La Mesa is absolutely boomer heaven! My bouts of vertigo won’t let me live on those narrow roads up high on Mt Helix, but LM village and the location of ltsdd’s listing on the other side of the mtn (bordering Rancho SD) are just perfect. I’ve driven all thru that area many times and I really like it!
I would have to get used to A/C, though. When I stayed in relatives’ homes in “flyover country” in the summer, I found that I don’t care for the smell of A/C inside a home. Some systems are better than others.
ltsdd, are you considering buying a home in La Mesa?
I would absolutely would consider buying in LM as soon as I could figure out what high-tech companies is out there. In the mean-time I’ll work on getting a 4×4 truck and the chewing and spitting tobacco thing down pat. Once I get that down I should fit right in in la mesa.
Well, your English is getting there. However, if you were planning on spitting tobacco on a LM street corner, I think you’ll quickly find that you’re in the wrong town. You must be confusing LM with Lakeside … or Flinn Springs. If you’re going to hone those skills, you’d best buy an RV instead of a 4×4 and find a place to park it and property “skirt” it out a little further east with your “brethren.” You can always take the 52 into work. After all, it’s just over ten minutes from Santee and Lakeside/FS is just another hop and a skip. No sweat!
I didn’t realize English is the primary language that they speak out there.

At least the Koreans in L.A. had the right thinking. They had guns.
Of course there won’t be any prosecution from the looting or rioting…

Participant
Example http://www.sdlookup.com/Property-B39882C8-7872_Mt_Vernon_St_Lemon_Grove_CA_91945 stated as 2967 sq.ft. but when you add up all the rooms comes to 1855 sq. ft.
The rest of the sqft goes to closets, bathrooms, hallways, laundry room, etc. I don’t think the space in the garage is counted towards the home’s square footage.
