Participant
RIP. I was introduced to leonard cohen when I took a modern dance class in college. great composer, singer.
My favorite is dance me to the end of love, a love song inspired by the holocaust. Beautiful!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGorjBVag0I%5B/quote%5DThat’s a better narrative than mine. I was introduced to his music via watching the Natural Born Killers. LOL.

ParticipantWell, there’s hope. Scary thought that christie would play a critical role on trump’s team moving forward

…now, if only he’d make it official and get rid of guiliani also.

ParticipantIt would be ironic or somewhat of a poetic justice once the dust is settled and people realized that, beside the rhetorics, they were actually voting for two slightly different versions of democrats – version 1.0 vs 1.1. I think that’s closer to the reality than democrat vs republican. The folks in the rust belt have been duped.

ParticipantGold is taking a spanking today.
Liquidated all my banks stocks. Don’t see much more upward movement near term after +10% swing in a couple days.
One thing that is certain is that chump is unpredictable and going forward anything that remotely has to do with him is unpredictable.

Participant

Get ready for double-digit unemployment and inflation. It’s going to be the fvcked up 1980s again. I am going to put off buying that next investment property for the next few years.
Why do you see double-digit inflation in a trump presidency?
Increased spending with little or no real economic growth leads to the devaluation of our currency which will ultimately leads to inflation.

Participant
Go long on banks..they will do fine. Look for deregulation and a rehash of irresponsible lending again. Trump already hinted at this. Free pass with a good Senate and House.
Let’s hope you’re right. I have 6-figure worth of stocks in bac & c.

Buying SRTY & SQQQ and the likes means that you believe the market will drop further?

ParticipantIf Clinton takes FL then it’s pretty much over and NH is inconsequential. On the other hand if FL goes to trump, the election may come down to the 4 votes from NH.

Participant
I would be happy with 8 years of Hillary.
A Hillary win is not guaranteed. Even if she does win, it will most likely be 1 and done. The way this election has been going, the next Repub candidate that is anywhere to the left of Chump will most likely be able to defeat Hillary; and most of them seems exactly that.

Participant
What would be a total shock for the markets is if Trump still ends up winning…
Huge sell-off in the first few minutes of the opening of the market. At which point, I will move all in.

ParticipantTrump won’t start a trade war with china. If anything he and his clan will be kissing emperor xi’s feet at every opportunity they get to gain some favors. Some leaders talk softly and carry a big stick. Trump like to talk big and most likely carry a tiny stick (both literally and figuratively).

Participant

Folks, remember, no one thought chump would make it this far.
Um, ltsdd, the “chump” is actually HRC …. NOT Trump.
Yes, I think Trump will win … but I felt he would win even before the FBI decided to reopen the investigation on HRC’s e-mails. For a whole variety of reasons that a lot of people don’t understand …. but namely that he’s willing to fight the good fight. There are very few people out there who are willing to do this …. especially using their own money …. very, very few … to none. Trump is one in several million.
And this is coming from a former (very effective) Dem activist/operative, lol …..
BG,
Why do you think donald chump would be good for the U.S.?ltsddd
ParticipantHillary’s supporters may get complacent, believing that she’ll win in a landslide, and don’t get out and vote. chump might be able to sneak in by a razor-thin margin. Again, I never would have thought he would be the GOP nomination.
