KIBUParticipant
For the house you want: 2800 square feet spending 600,000, that ‘s 215/sf.
For Del mar, I see a range of 400/sqft to 2052 dollar/square feet for 2800 sqft homes.
Footnote: for the 400 dollars/square feet above in del mar, I see that house listing at $1,290,000 now.
There are plenty of rich people. They won’t move anywhere so that you and I will be able to move in. The crash will basically affect the upper middle class areas, middle class and poor areas.
KIBUParticipantI would not touch land there in Victorville or desert towns like that. Some of my friends really believe in it and they bought land there. They used all their left over family income into it. I hope they are right.
Land investment is not easy at all. I hope people would be really cautious before jumping in with all their family money.
On this, I see a lot of asians got the hook.

KIBUParticipantPerry Chase, downtown has many great things, the only bad things about downtown for me are:
1.Downtown has more sex offenders than elsewhere in the county and its school

Not ideal for family with kids.
2. Parking problems
3. TrafficI go downtown almost everyweek for fun. But I can’t afford down there for price they want.

KIBUParticipantI am wondering about a day when downtown is going to go for zero dollar per square feet. Think it’s imposible? All it takes is just a big earth quake……
I guess I am growing old now, no longer want to live downtown.

KIBUParticipantI probably need another professor to discern what is said above by the economic professor.

KIBUParticipantI saw two signs like that too and the pictures of the dog were not really identifiable, it’s kinda strange. Someone wants people to bring lots of dogs to them probably for selecting and buying and then resell. This business model probably look for profits from buying inventory at low cost?? That’s my guess, if you want to really know, call them and bring your dog to them just to see what they say.
In case they offer you 1000, just give them the dog.

KIBUParticipantVery informative thread. Thanks especially to the ones discussing about how to get around the agent if in case one doesn’t want to. I knew already how helpful agents can be. What I was interested in this thread was what alternative does one has and how practical it could be. Thanks for all your flood of interesting info!!!
