ParticipantI agree with above statements regarding resale homes. I have a few friends who bought new homes and they all said that they would NOT buy a new home again. The work involved to upgrade a home and landscaping was a painful experience. Dealing with the contractors can be very difficult. Also, the final cost is always higher than estimated.

ParticipantI owned RIMM and sold it when it was $45. I would not touch it at this time as there is more downside potential than upside potential. It is also not a good takeover target as it will cost too much for a company to buy it.

ParticipantRead your rental agreement and see if this was mentioned. The landlord is entitled to change the looks if you don’t return the key for obvious reasons.

ParticipantSerenity homes are very popular due to great floor plans and relatively reasonable price per sqft. Resale homes are probably the better deal now. The home below just sold for slightly over $1 million.
This is a little bit high. I think a price in the low $900k is more reasonable.http://www.sdlookup.com/MLS-110007889-14574_Whispering_Ridge_Rd_San_Diego_CA_92131
