jstoeszParticipant
I suspect it is because you are a failure…
Can we all just stand aghast at this statement for a second?
BGIG, out of curiosity what do your business(s) do?
jstoeszParticipantMy parents did the same for myself and my brother and sister and we were most definitely not rich. I didn’t even know what a gardener was until I moved to southern california…everyone must be rich here…
CAR,
You do have a point about the self limiting nature of private schools. None of the schools we went to growing up had entrance exams, and all of them had half the per capita spending of the public schools. But private schools have one important filter, Private schools tend to have parents that care. That kind of environment is worth every penny.

jstoeszParticipantI can not convince my wife of anything either.
The best I can do, is get to a position early before she has formed an opinion and then influence. Once that position is formed…good luck. The only option left is to appeal to an authority (I never fall into this category once we disagree).

jstoeszParticipantNot that I disagree with the article, but those charts are somewhat bunk. The first should show % change in employment, not the raw numbers. The amended chart would still be disappointing, but a bit more honest.
The second chart shows you the power of assumptions. Notice the exponential growth of the costs projected. A trend that can not continue, won’t. But that just means we need to make sure the assumptions are false, or at least actively falsify them…
