ParticipantI guess I will do the same, I just found out that my bank is having a special promo and giving 3.9% for 12 month CDs.
I’m putting my down payment savings in CDs with a plan to buy in a year or so, it’s at 3.6% interest. I guess I’m losing money to total inflation, but since I plan on spending the money on a house and houses are deflating so as far as housing those dollars aren’t losing value. I did this because if I lost 20% of my money to the stock market, that would delay the house purchase significantly and I don’t have time to ride out a rough spot.
ParticipantI read his book too and most of the stuffs he said came true. However, I didn’t follow his advice on investments which I dearly regret.

ParticipantI wonder what are the reasons? Realtors probably know that the buyers need 15 to 20% down and a $130K pre-tax income to buy this house.
Asianautica, do you see this house (or something similar) going to $450K near the end of 2009?
Mason is now BOM. This one has been in and out of escrow so many times, I lost count.
