ParticipantMy SDGE monthly bill (gas and electric) is under $40. I think living in a 1b/1b condo helps. We are in Carmel Valley near the 5 fwy, no AC is needed.
Changing to efficient light bulbs (10 total) lowered my bill about $5 a month.

ParticipantHey, it’s either bailout or foreclosure. I think it is cheaper for the bank and our economy to bail him out.

ParticipantI work in a big building that houses two divisions of my company (2 out of more than 100 groups). My division is surviving but we are getting no raise. However, the other division just laid off 10% (20 people) of the work force and everyone including exempt employees will take a one week unpaid vacation per month.
Most people are very unhappy. But some people like it because they need a break. I am seeing more and more companies doing this.

ParticipantMy friend is calling HUD counselors tommorow. Hope they can help. Does he need to exaggerate his expenses to get help?
Even without any exaggeration, he has 0% saving rate right now. If you include his wife school loans, they have negative saving rate.
