ParticipantFlight noise in MM is no different than SV. If your budget is around 4$00k to $500k, you can buy a nice newer home (1992 or newer) in NW Mira Mesa. Do you have school age children? If yes, you might want to consider PQ which is about $50-$75k more expensive than MM but has excellent Poway schools. MM has above average schools. If you have no school age children and you work near SV or La Jolla, NW MM is ideal for budget under $500k. From NW MM, it is about a 5-7 min drive to SV. Usually there is no traffic even at peak time. Below are some threads discussing properties in NW MM. I just bought in NW MM so I know quite a bit about the area after three years of research. However, AN is the MM expert here.

ParticipantI am a little axious because we have to move out of our condo by Monday. Some body is moving in the condo on Wednesday and my landlord needs a day for cleaning. If this gets delayed any further we will be on the street. It got delayed two weeks already.

They approved the loan. We signed the docs on Tuesday thinking everything is done. Suddenly this morning I got a call from the Broker.
She said before funding, the lender wants to know why my wife’s income dropped from 2008 to 2009. I explained that my wife had less overtime hours in 2009. And then the lender also wants to know what is my 2008 schedule C income of my 2008 tax form? I explained that it was a loss in mutual fund investment.
Don’t they do this before approving the loan and doc signing?
