“I feel like we got a righteous wind at our backs here.”
Is this the part that rings alarm bells for you?
Seems like the usual rally speech material. Fascism may be a bit of a stretch.

Hell yeah for a guy to say God is behind him and he is coming to save you is scary.
Don’t you think?? But I guess its ok if a democrat saids it right?

Dude, when isn’t some sort of devine selection invoked in this sort of situation? This is a theme that has been repeated throughout history…good and bad. Didn’t W declare God was on our side or some such thing when rallying the citizenry into taking on the invasion of Iraq?
I just think it’s a little too early to be playing “Tin Foil Hat”.You do realize that he spent a several years of his childhood in Indonesia, which has a large Muslim population. I’m sure he’s heard expressions such as, “righteous wind” on more than one occasion. He used an expression that he’s familiar with to express himself. We all do that on a daily basis.
Why is everything a Democrat vs. Republican arguement? How about we just worry about what’s good for the country. Both parties have been running the country into the ground. Why is it so hard to see that?
We’ve arrived at this point in history together; Democrat, Republican or other. Finger pointing and divisiveness isn’t going to get us anywhere.
Obama talks about change. If he is elected, will he truely bring change? Only time will tell. He’s only one cog in the machine but, he does seem to posses the ability to bring people of varying backgrounds together. That seems to be a very important attribute for some applying for this particular job.

No one outside the left and MSM think Obama is even qualified to be Prez much less a person to bring people together.
Its not the governments role to bring people together anyway. People bring people together.
As far as Indonesia goes he was educated as Muslim while he lived there As far as I know his only Christian experience was listening to the racist Rev Wright for 20 years. The righteous wind comment comes from his Islam experience which was my point.
I don’t care if he worships a soccer ball. I do care that he lies.

Obama doesn’t strike me as the type with the guts to be a Kamikaze pilot. He might get his worshipers to get it a try but not him.
I get your point though. Thanks.

BTW, I’ve heard a few folks talking on the radio or some news channel about this very specific subject. Tipicaly, only the political extremes (leaning too much the right or left) are having their opinions voiced out loud. The moderate crowd is fairly quiet and reactive (hence the problem). I’d tend to venture that if there were a way to start a new political party, the core democrats or republicans will have a small base in future elections.
RON PAUL came close, but we see that the political winds, and making a difference tends to force people that want to provide true change join one of the parties…which automatically kills there future.
Also, I find it odd that I agree with John on the % of baby boomers relying on goverment cheese :)[/quote]
As long as the bottem 50% pay 3% of the taxes nothing will change.
We have succeeded into getting the majority of voters off the tax rolls so half the people don’t even care what the government spends.
Not only that, now we have half the people who don’t pay taxes telling the other half how pay how much they have to pay.
Its unconstiutional. Anyone that knows a constitutional lawyer let me have his name. Congress will not do anything because the voters don’t care. It will be up to he courts to fix the system.
