FormerSanDiegan is pretty spot on. This is not an issue related to Republican vs. Democrat at all. To group it as such is short-minded and just wrong. Plenty of people on both sides have engaged in these acts and I know plenty of people who claim to be “Democrats” who, when it comes to themselves, are just as greedy & selfish as any Republican.
For the record I consider myself a republican (although not a Christian Coalition Repbulican at all) and am a responsible adult with no debt and lives well below my means.
GoUSCParticipantThanks for posting this information Artifact! I am one of those sitting on the sideline and its good to see things are still going towards the negative so that hopefully we will start seeing some meaningful price corrections.

GoUSCParticipant$500,000 represents a 20% short sale for the lenders. You are not going to get them to agree to anything less than that. No way no how. And the house isn’t worth $500k to me regardless so I wouldn’t bother. The broker did say they have an offer at the low end (aka $500k) being review by the bank right now.

GoUSCParticipantOne house does not a market make. You can always selectively pull out sales to show nothing is happening. Not saying you aren’t right but one sale is indicative of….well nothing.

GoUSCParticipant40 footer. Everything looked good from 40 feet away but up close the quality/condition was not very good. The broker was a good guy though. He basically told me to wait and that many better deals will be available in a year or so. The seller is underwater, can’t make their payments, and are going to loose the house (it was on an ARM that adjusted and they can no longer afford the payments). Of course that didn’t stop them from having a 28+ foot fishing boat in the driveway that looked practically new. People never cease to amaze me.
Oh and what’s with people using their garages as disorganized storage units???? I HATE THAT.
Anyway, I will keep looking around.

GoUSCParticipantI’m bearish and I was born and raised here. Born in ’76, lived most of my life in La Jolla, moved to LA for college, came back and lived in Crown Point for ~8 years and now live in Bay Park.

GoUSCParticipantI am looking to see a 20-30% decline from today’s prices. My budget is up to $800k but ideally I want to be into my home for $500k. Looking for a ~2000sf 3br/2-3ba on a 6000-9000sf lot. Areas I am looking include Bay Park, North Pacific Beach, Ocean Beach, Point Loma, Missions Hills, Hill Crest, La Jolla.

GoUSCParticipantI know they won’t accept my offer… But I wanted to see the house anyway. I spoke to the broker last night and he said that it is “scheduled” to be foreclosed on next month. My price range is actually a bit higher but if I find something in the $400-$600k range I can do a 15 year mortgage and have a nice comfortable mortgage payment.
