second that.
Bibi this Bibi that in one of the debates (VP ones I think) was sickening to watch.
Don’t their constituents have any self-respect anymore?
If these guys are so obsessed with Bibi and his “line” why don’t they go help him over there instead of wasting time in office here?
there is just so much pandering to special interests from both sides of the aisle. And the Israel lobby is for better or for worse one of the more powerful forces around.
Actually they are not that a powerful lobby. This is why I just don’t get the pandering part. AARP, NRA, major pharma and the street special interests beat them by miles in terms of influence but I don’t see politicians on either side sucking up so shamelessly to these groups in public.

The students come from homes where they speak hundreds of different languages, have totally different cultural values (including how their home culture values education), and where many come from very poor families who live in crowded conditions in crime-filled neighborhoods.
The changing demographic in the U.S. is largely (almost entirely, IMHO) responsible for decline of student performance over the years. Show me another country and school system with our demographics, and let’s compare how we fare then, shall we?
What does diversity have to do with declining student performance? Are you suggesting that folks who do not espeake ingles at home are somehow responsible for decline in student performance? Including the SAT scores that the author refers to? From what I see, such “diverse” student population gets filtered out way before college. So what does college education (referred to by the author) have to do with your assertion?
I find that suggestion very offensive. You can believe what you want, but you might want to also consider that some of these ‘diverse’ student population might actually biasing the test scores for higher education upwards and making jhonny boy look smarter than he really is.dumbrenterParticipantDinesh is taking his work literally. He is out to prove that he could be anything (immoral, gay whatever) but never an anti-colonial.

Yes, but killing somebody in name of religion is wrong, but killing somebody in name of freedom and peace is ok.
Doesn’t the other side get this?dumbrenterParticipant
It is really easy to figure out what side of the political fence someone sits on by whom they nitpick to death. It is especially easy in this thread.
I found it amusing when the Dems nitpicked Bush over his Katrina reaction. I’m finding it equally amusing now that the Reps are nitpicking Obama to death over Libya.
Sometimes I wonder if there is anybody out there at all who can be truly objective.
The objective ones in politics have been run out of town in the 80s. They cannot exist in this current setup anymore since nobody will vote for them. Thank cnn/fox/msnbc for that. Most partisan posts here take a cue from these sources & their talking points.

SK: There was considerable intel and in the MONTHS leading up to the Benghazi attack and this intel came from US, Western (largely British) and Libyan sources.
Western “intel” is code word for 2 FBI agents going over facebook updates.
It was this same “intel” that got us into un-needed wars and made us pretty much a neighbor to Iran.
There was no al-kaeeda in Iraq when dear leader saddam was in power and it is clear now his scientists haven’t even managed to complete coloring of the nuclear warhead book.
There were no al-kaeda in Libya when dearly departed leader was in power. I’d say had he been alive, the ambassador would never had been killed (and before some humorless dimwit jumps on me for this, think about this for a second!).
Which makes me wonder who exactly are these western ‘intel’ fellows working for? At every step we are becoming weaker and the al-kaeda boyz are becoming stronger after their “involvement”.
Budget cuts anyone?dumbrenterParticipant
”No acts of terror will ever shake the resolve of this great nation, alter that character, or eclipse the light of the values that we stand for. Today we mourn four more Americans who represent the very best of the United States of America. We will not waver in our commitment to see that justice is done for this terrible act. And make no mistake, justice will be done.”
He referred to it as an act of terror. Your interpretation is clouded by your bias. The words are right there, or do you need some kind of certificate to prove he said those words?
Yes, we need a certificate to prove that and that certificate better be in Kenyan.
dumbrenterParticipantAm I the only one around who questions this data that concluded that women these days get paid less?
The candidate who questioned the data would surely impress me.From what I am aware, there is full parity in pay for similar job types, especially in tech industry.

Nothing wrong with getting into debt, as long as one doesn’t blame everyone else for being in debt afterwards.
Not true..that debt is backstopped by the federal govt and ultimately me. I’d rather pay for someone to be an engineer/doctor/nurse and take a loss as a taxpayer than pay for someone to be an art historian or a linguist of a non-existent language.
dumbrenterParticipantNothing wrong with spending time to get a degree that does not lead to any employment as long as there is no debt involved.
dumbrenterParticipantAround that time black folk were 2nd class citizens in most other churches too. It should have been as weird for McCain or Clinton too to be debating Obama

Driving IS a privilege irrespective of public transportation. You can always walk. Maybe you will change your mind regarding assholes running red lights in that case. Or maybe not; especially if you are not nimble enough to dodge them.

wow. This is just absurd. $535 is what probably half month rent for a lot of people… I mean you probably can afford this ticket, and so can I…I can’t imagine someone on minimum wage getting one of these….
Seriously, doesn’t it strike anyone that this is absurd? wow. state really needs money. $535 fine for a red light, which in itself is questionable tactic to ticket someone this way..
You know. It’s just wrong to assign a financial penalty to traffic offenses. If they were really interested in preventing this from happening, they would assign something like picking up trash for 100 hrs, in which it doesn’t matter if you could cough up the $500 or so….
Driving is actually a privilege or hadn’t you heard?
I think $500 is getting off easy for running a red light. People get killed that way.
That’s bullshit… The red light camera can be off…way off. I’ve seen the ones in Carmel Valley in Del Mar Heights go off on the wrong time. Also, IF your car is at the shop and your mechanic blows through a red light, guess who ends up getting the ticket in the mail and who has the burden to prove it’s not you???
Bullshit right back at you.
The lights are not going off the wrong time, they are being calibrated at specific times. Just because a light went off does not necessarily mean that somebody is going to get a ticket.
And by the way, the camera clearly identifies both the vehicle and the driver. Have you ever seen one of those tickets? As for the specific intersection you are talking about, it is notorious with folks wanting to breeze through the red lights. Forget a $500 fine, I’d rather have death penalty for those who hurt somebody on that intersection. I almost got run over many times at that spot.
Typical carmel valley idiots, they want rules for others but cannot be bothered with little things like traffic rules themselves.
If you see a fellow walking across that intersection with his middle finger held high and gesturing to the drivers, you have just seen the dumbrenter. And an overwhelming number of those that intend to kill me at that intersection are either asian or female (or both). I can understand the ladies wanting a piece of me, but what have I ever done to the other group?
So slow the fk down at that intersection people. Where ever you plan to go and no matter how late you are to pick up your brat, it is not worth killing another human over. That red light is not a friendly suggestion. It is the law that requires you to stop so that a fellow like me can walk my ass to safety.
