ParticipantLniles, no, current means that applications have been initiated but the status remains the same. That does not mean that their residency status has advanced and therefore they are still on work visa until application approved. once approved, they will be sent a green card and from there, they are permanent residents. Not citizens yet. Still have a long way to go. Anyway, all these processes do not affect when they buy houses.

ParticipantAs far as I understand, “current” means the INS (currently USCIS) will start working on the cases after all these years of backlog. But that may take some time to clear, you know how efficient the INS works on their cases. It does not imply that they will get the visas immediately, unless I have a wrong interpretation on “Current status”.

Participantfat_lazy_union, where did you get a sense that ppl in this blog wish to have interest rate going up forever? That is not the point. As SD Realtor has mentioned in the earlier communication, too high the interest rate would have a negative effect on every level of the economy. People are just saying that having a increase in interest rate will help correct the housing market and make it more affordable.

ParticipantI am not an economist and I don’t know all the economic pathways and mechanisms in the network. One thing I do believe based on my gut feeling is that since everything is so inflated, US Stocks, chinese stock market, US housing bubble, global housing condition. We are approaching to the breaking point. When? I wish I know so that I don’t have to wait to buy a damn house here.

ParticipantThere are US college grads that are also foreign, master and PhDs especially. Further, unemployment is not an issue in this country.
