My dentist gives me a list of what should be done after my X-Rays, he tells me it’s not critical but it should be done. So I will get it done but I don’t like having to much done at once.
desmondParticipantYes get your “deep cleaning” this weekend for $99, but you better hurry. Holy S dentists are the new auto repair shop. I had “deep cleaning” it sucked, very painful, I think it took four visits and I will never do that again. My last visit for cleaning I had the full X-rays done and can you believe it, they found a crown that should be replaced, because you know “it is not a matter of if it will go bad but when!!! I am not going to do the crown. They also wanted me to come in every four months for cleaning instead of six, no thank you. I have learned to say no at the dentist office.
desmondParticipantI prefer wild Quail, whiter meat than you think and it does not have the “gamey” taste, although it is not as tender as a farm grown bird, not sure what wine I should have with it. I am having some tonite.

Unless you have a “chicken brain” you really do not know that either….

The recurring debate over giving one extra sq. foot to chickens on the farm cracks me up. If you are going to eat them at the end of the day, how does it matter?
If you visit the French countryside, you’ll see that their agriculture is much more humane and sustainable than our big agri-businesses. There are plenty of free-range chicken farms and pasture where cows walk around. In France, you can stop at small village all over the country and buy artisanal products. The products are fresh, flavorful and healthy. In America, when you visit the country, you see Walmart stores.

Here’s a slaughter house in your beloved France:

Does not look that great to me?
If you travel to the small farming towns in the USA you can find the same thing as in France not just a Walmart store. But what would I know actually owning a small farm with livestock?

I have never heard of this stuff before so I am not promoting it at all. It was in a storage unit for over 30 years and nobody knows where it came from.
My wife was closing out her Grandma’s storage unit over the weekend and brought me back 3 patches that she thought would be funny to give me because I am part German. I checked them out on the internet:
This is what I got back from a WW II relic expert:
“Everything is authentic.
The tropical eagles about $120 each. Normally you might get a bit more for the whole strip, and it’s a shame to cut them apart, but collectors usually only want one….
(I have 3 in a row)

The Bevo SS rune tab about $500

The Skull tab about $600.

Or is it merely a matter of survival when the child gets fussing on the long road trip?
Take it from Gregory Peck
desmondParticipant
I feel the same way Brian. On my birthday last weekend I threw a party for my friends to thank them for all their love and support. I brought all the wine and it was good wine. I just wanted to enjoy time with them.
Nobody wants gifts after age 21 from their friends. This guy sent gift that required me to activate and pay $100 a year for service. In the note that he sent me he said that after I activated the service could I give him the priority code so he could get a rebate on the gift he gave me. Holy shit, this is not what I ever wanted to get or do.
desmondParticipantNo matter what you do or don’t do kids are very expensive, but they are your kids so just enjoy it. One other thing, as you raise your kids and go through all the challenges you will find out how hard it is and your criticism on how other parents raise their kids will diminish.
desmondParticipant
I wonder whether your friend posted a similar OT message last year at some blog he usually reads:
Give a B-Day Present and get back a phone call?
Submitted by friend
“I have a long time friend, let’s call him Desmond who is close to me so I felt like sending him a gift on his birthday. I was expecting a thank you card, but all I got was a quick phone call. I feel like Charlie Brown…”He probably got a reply like this:
“You give not expecting to receive, so you shouldn’t expect a thank you card or note. It is more work for already busy people and they end in the trash killing millions of trees. I strongly suggest you save the environment and send email instead.”
Diego,
You are a complete stranger and you took more time writing than my friend did. Oh well I know sometimes I put more emotional effort into things than I should, but, hey I am learning.June 1, 2012 at 7:17 AM in reply to: How are people dumber than us going to make out with their 401(k)s? #744719desmondParticipantThere are that many people for you to worry about.
