I read the article…was amazed… There is still a lot of money out there and a lot of people who like to be stroked.

When someone spends 500$ per person on a party, a lot of shallow people feel obligated to buy a 800K condo. Look – they like me… they really like me!!!!

I’m in a transition right now as I just sold my company. I put a small amount of money into the stock market and a large amount into municipal bonds – had to hold back my broker, kicking and screaming, to only put a small amount in, and of course everything he has bought including the municipal bonds are down.

I’m trying to reign in my spending ways, but can’t resist eating out…

I am, however, pledged to keep living off the interest and downsize somewhat. One way was not buying a house. Best decision I ever made. I was one signature away from buying a house in La Jolla, glad I am renting here instead.

I’ve realized one sad truth… That fear sells better than kindness, logic loses to hatred, economic fairness loses to the fear that someone will take your job… The Republican’s are much better communicators – the Democrats are too liberal and logical and it seems to many folks that they are weak – instead of just trying to build a better society (vs. keeping all the dough to themselves).

Imagine of people voted for the party which actually represented them? Vs. the party which has the best message of fear? People are suckers.

Whoa… Lets all take a breather!

Raybyrnes posted the comment (I think about why can’t the democrats field a successful candidate vs. why have the Republicans (GW) destroyed everything our country stands for and we have worked for as a nation… (Note I am paraphrasing!) The Republican’s pick a leader and get behind him. They use fear mongering and hatred… all the time they are picking our pockets. They also play the religion card, the birth control card, the abstinence card, the abortion card, the scary Mexicans card, etc. And with our sheeplike population, it’s easy to find something to be afraid of. The Democrats just intellectually destroy each other during elections until the final victor is so beaten down that the Republican’s can finish them off.

I vote Democratic because the Republicans don’t espouse the family values and core values that I believe a thinking, caring person should care about. Most of their ‘family values’ are actually anti-family anti-society values. Thats the hipacritical part. That doesn’t mean that I like most of the Democratic higher-ups… It just means that I think a large majority of the Republicans are hypocrites, and their cult worship hurts my country and my family.

I think Clinton was a pretty good president – he was a little weak on execution. I can’t even come to grips with what a dangerous and poor leader GW is. You couldn’t write a story which would have a more pathetic dangerous idiot at the helm and be believed… Its almost Kafkaesque.

A recent article I read states that if the United States gets behind any leader in the Arab world, they automatically will lose their election. Thats how bad it’s gotten. We are the laughingstock of every civilized and uncivilized country out there… They would be laughing much louder if we weren’t so dangerous.

That being said, we aren’t too dangerous anymore… The imbecilic prosecution of the war has left us pretty weak and puny. Imagine if we did need to take action against a North Korea, Iran, or Belgium? (Just kidding about Belgium – the US population would find out that we might have a chocolate crisis and would immediately capitulate!

If GW really cared about this country he would abdicate. He is so protected about what people think that he actually thinks that he is doing well. Its frightening.

I think that this whole ‘housing bubble thing’ is overblown and the price / sq. ft. is finally where I want it.

Any good recommendations as you track the downtown market?

I would like a water view, at least 3K sq. ft. and want to be up high. Also I want a swimming pool in the condo.

Just kidding…. I was expressing the OC opinion of a lot of your neighbors! I am a Bush hater… I just can’t get up the venom anymore. I like when John Stuart on the Daily Show says that the Bush establishment provides him with so much ammunition that the show writes itself.

He isn’t only crapping on the constitution, he is crapping on the American people. He spent more money than could almost be argued was humanly possible, and what he has gotten for the money is the world hating us, the Arab world in flames and really hating us, and a huge payday for the oil and guns segment of our economy.

What pisses me off is the smug happy way he goes along, screwing up the country and taking care of his friends. If anyone told me where the country would be in 07 I would have told them that they were smoking something….

I pray, seriously pray (and I am not religious) that he spends the next 20 years trying to understand just what a shit he really was and how badly he performed. I hope that he gets that understanding in Federal prison, and I hope that Rove shares the cell with him.
