    Pier One has been in financial trouble for some time. No doubt housing has laready affected retailers, and that may be part of their problem, but I think in this instance a poor business model was the bigger culprit. Look at Sharper Image too.

    Keep in mind the people calling 2008 the bottom, and there are even some saying 2009, are the ones who coined the phrase “soft landing” and claim the worst is behind us all the way down. They did it last year after a single month uptick in any data they choose to maniuplate.

    This thing will go down as long as it went up, and with government interference, it will take even longer to correct, but it WILL correct.
